A movie director has claimed that Hollywood directors abusing staff can lead to movie leaks:
The idea that The Expendables 3 leaked directly from Hollywood is not new. Pristine copies like these simply aren't available on the streets unless an insider has had a hand in it somehow, whether that interaction was intentional or otherwise.
In some instances the motivation to leak, Alexander suggests, could be borne out of a desire to get even. Assistants to the higher-ups are often treated badly, so more consideration should be given to what they might do in return, the director notes.
"It's kind of like going to a restaurant and thinking twice about insulting the waiter or busboy because you're afraid of what they'll put in the food before they bring it back", Alexander explains.

While everyone knows insiders have been involved, this suggests a different motive. The usual narrative is that the filthy pirates have infiltrated the industry, and are plunderin' for their pirate friends. It also pins much of the blame on the Hollywood elite, rather than the leaker.
That being said, I'm not convinced that said director [wikipedia.org] isn't just doing this for publicity, or perhaps because of her own grudge against the Hollywood elite.

Lexi Alexander was probably just getting back at the pedophilic Jewish elites who "auditioned" her as a director the same way that porn stars are "auditioned" on top of and under the desks of bulbous, balding hooknosed executives.

Not the people most likely to be abusive. That kind of narcissism would be a direct impediment to figuring out such a cause and effect relationship. And if there is one thing that Hollywood has a surplus of, it is narcissism.

I don't know much about Hollywood and movies. But the concept seems similar to the software industry of the past. People on the inside provide copies of software (mostly games) in advance, in rare or few cases they are bought.
