If you've ever seen or used MIT's scratch programming language, you'll be right at home with BlocksCAD. Essentially a GUI front-end for OpenSCAD (a popular CAD tool in the 3D-printing community), BlocksCAD is intended to make CAD more accessible, especially for kids. It's being developed by Einstein's Workshop, a family-friendly makerspace, and they are currently looking for funding via a kickstarter campaign. See their kickstarter page for a video showing it in action.

Sweet, I was just thinking I wish I had something like this for my daughter. Hope they make it, then I can convince my wife that we do need a 3d printer!
