Michael Larabel over at Phoronix has this little gem for us.
Besides the Linux release of Tropico 5, also available as of today is the official release of Wasteland 2, which is coming twenty-five years after the release of the original Wasteland.
[...] You can learn more about Wasteland 2 (or buy the game) by visiting the Steam Store. The Wasteland 2 classic edition is $39.99 while the digital deluxe edition will set you back $59.99.
The year of the Linux desktop? Yeah, probably not. A nice step forward for Linux gaming though for certain.

Call me old-fashioned, but for a game like this I'd like to have it in physical form somehow, in a box, with printed manuals, to put right next to the original Wasteland from 1989.

There is a 'Ranger Edition' available on Amazon [amazon.co.uk] which has a full colour manual, art cards, map etc, but it appears to be the Windows only. There is also a regular retail box available.
Even buying the retail boxes, you still need a steam account apparently (which should mean you can get the Linux version via download). I wasn't able to find the 'Ranger Edition' on amazon.com.

Linux gaming is a Wasteland, all right. Heh.

You're telling me. Try finding one good Diablo2-esque game to play on linux. There aren't any.
Sure, wine, blah blah blah. I want native.

Torchlight is available on Linux, just not on Steam. I'm sure you can get the Linux version from the Humble Store.

Fair point. Unfortunately I already played all the clicks out of one mouse on it.

There's also a DRM-free version on GOG.com (http://www.gog.com/game/wasteland_2_digital_classic_edition [gog.com]) for Linux, Mac and Windows.

Why not check developers' page [inxile-entertainment.com]?
