Tumblr has long promoted itself as a hub for artists and creative entrepreneurs. Now, Tumblr wants to put those people to work.

To that end, the company unveiled a new initiative, in which it plans to hand-pick some of its most popular artists and creative users and pair them up with brands who want to advertise across the popular blogging platform.

Tumblr is full of extremist feminists and pro-anorexia nutjobs. I've no idea why any company would willingly associate themselves with that shithole of a site/community.

Wow. I mean, it says it's tumblr, but I'm enjoying viewing it, rather than feeling the bile rising in the back of my throat. So confused.

So how do you even find those sites if you aren't looking for them?

I've never seen a site like that, despite having known about the pro-ana phenomenon for at least a decade. Just not something I care about.

I do like porn though, and have seen plenty of sites like that one JC posted.

Easy, I talk to other people. Lots of different topics get discussed, sometimes the shadier/bad side of the internet and society are involved.

You don't have to intentionally seek out information to learn of it.

You talk to other people and they tell you what's on tumblr, so you haven't actually looked yourself, you are just relying on the opinions of people who do go looking for that sort of thing?

I really am not following you.

Tumblr has long promoted itself as better than other social media sites while ranking lower. Now, Marissa Meyer has finally gotten around to fucking it up, too.

To that end, the company unveiled a new initiative, in which by claiming to link a few of its users up with work (about the same odds of Powerball, or worse,) it reaps a shitload of free publicity and says, "Please notice us! Especially before we go the way of Geocities and kick off Web 2.0 bubble crash!"

    There. FTFY.
