So, after playing 14 hours of NetHack, I'm a little burned out, I've even run out of things to talk about; which honestly took longer expect, so in trying to keep things interesting, I going switch games. I thought playing Dwarf Fortress, but I don't I think I can get too much done in the time remaining, and DF can be somewhat formulatic, so we're going to switch to Minecraft. My goal to try and beat the Ender Dragon (the original boss) between now, and the end of the LiveStream at 23:59 EST.
Unfortunately, I can only stream this via Twitch, so telnet viewers, your SOL for now. I think this event gone pretty today; we had a lot of good conversations about where going site, some thoughts long term, having SirFinkus, mrcoolbp, and Paul join me for parts of the livestream, so lets do something that I talk about. As always, I'll available to field questions by IRC, comments here on the or in the Twitch channel.
I may open this world up to MP if members of the community wish to join me, although I will have to tweak my setup for that. I do for an "after party", after slaying the dragon, or at least giving it my best go :).
Feel free to join us on my Twitch channel, and I am recording so for those who have not been able to follow the stream, you will be able to watch it after the fact. I'm looking for volunteers to edit the massive FLV file generated by the stream.

I'm not sure which is worse, the fact that I watched him talking about building an axe capable of mining gold and thought "yeah, I could watch this," the idea that really I could just watch him the rest of the day and be okay with that, or the fact that I have the spare time to do so.

I'm taking a five minute break right now, the reason I can do this is I went back to school after bouncing around things for awhile, and this week is Spring break, so I took it off in general to just unwind and do things I wanted to do.

I can one up you, I've watched all of Direwolf20 and Pahimar's team series. From both guys points of view. "because my kids make me watch it" although I enjoy it. I learned quite a bit about ex nihlo mod and AE1 mod assemblers and TC mods watching these dudes. They did a remarkably poor job explaining big reactors. It annoys me that DW20 will go on a rant about how he doesn't want to program computercraft on camera because people say its boring, hell, thats probably the most interesting thing he could do from my perspective. So far they haven't explained much ender io they just use it, which is mildly annoying.
I used to feel bad until I saw the TV schedule, then I felt a lot better about watching lets play videos.
I do have some standards and when the kids put on stampylongface I'm outta the room. WTF is this, the bozo the clown show on minecraft?

An "in your infinite spare time" wishlist would be updating the fields on the preference page from the 90s (ICQ, AIM, yahoo ID) to the 10s with (on topic) minecraft name, twitch login, xbox name, stuff like that. Oh yeah and there's my username on 4chan, which is Anonymous, yeah I do post there a lot.

give us more notice on games you want to do a community event on, like Minecraft. If I would have had a few days notice, I could have polished off my copy from the long long ago and at the very least, provided cheap diamond finding labor. Go community?
