There are many different alternative video platforms out there but the quality varies greatly. Reclaim the Net writes about the TubeShift browser extension that helps you rescue videos censored by YouTube. From the article:

TubeShift makes it easy to find censored YouTube videos on Odysee, Rumble, BitChute and more. It also simplifies the process of staying up to date with creators on alternative platforms. When YouTube censors videos, it also scrubs the video title and the name of the channel that uploaded the video from the page. All that remains is white space and a notice stating: "This video has been removed for violating YouTube's terms of service." This means that if all you have is a link to a YouTube video that was censored before you had a chance to watch it, you can't search for the video title or the creator on alternative platforms.

[...] The open-source TubeShift browser extension fixes this problem by finding alternative versions of censored YouTube videos and making links to these alternative videos available to you with a single click. In addition to helping you find censored videos, TubeShift also finds alternative versions of non-censored videos across a variety of platforms. So if you're watching a video on YouTube, TubeShift will let you know if the video's also available on BitChute, Odysee, and the other platforms it supports.

[...] While TubeShift is great for finding alternative versions of YouTube videos, you can also use it to find alternatives while browsing the other supported sites. For example, if you're on Odysee and want to see if the creator also uploads to Rumble, TubeShift will let you know with a single click. Currently, TubeShift supports five video-sharing platforms – BitChute, Odysee, Rumble, YouTube, and Dailymotion. It also plans to add support for the free speech video sharing platform Gab TV after it makes a planned change to its website.

TubeShift is opt-in, so that would limit its usefulness. But it's a good idea. It would be ideal if it can be implemented in any tools that allow creators to upload to multiple sites.

YouTube wiping the channel name and video title from deleted videos is a nuisance. The only way around it would be to collect the metadata for billions of videos as they are uploaded.

It's not that simple. Those 62 channels are ones that don't work with automatic discovery. All YouTube clones that exist in Odysee and BitChute using their channel import features are available.

There's a TubeShift video about YouTube not allowing comments on videos from the White House. Comments from the BitChute version of a Biden video about gun control are read so there's your warning about it being NSFW. https://www.bitchute.com/video/mp3gJuluCroI/ [bitchute.com]

Far too often I'd click on a tab I'd neglected for a while and find out that not only is the spicy audio I want to hear gone, but I can't even see the name of the VA to check out their other stuff. (*) That's part of the reason I download and transcode almost every audio RP/ASMR thing I like but I shouldn't have to. One ASMRtist I frequent just 2 weeks ago had to reupload every single video for at least the 3rd time, even though nothing there at the time was skirting the rules.
Why do they even bother with censoring stuff unless it's somehow illegal? Just make sure uploaders flag the fun stuff as age restricted, and give advertisers the option to not display ads on 18+ videos if that's something they're concerned about. It could be a win for everyone.
Sorry that turned into a bit of a rant, I just fucking hate censorship in general and many of Google's shitty practices.
Anyway I'll for sure get some mileage out of this plugin. Didn't even know that some of the YT alternatives mentioned existed.

(*) Well I suppose I probably shouldn't have dozens to hundreds of tabs open in each of 5 or so browsers, but what can I say? I'm a real degenerate.

Obscure ASMRtists will have to be taught to use YouTube alternatives and extensions like this. Some of them won't because they self-yeet their channels after they get scared. The really spicy stuff goes on Soundgasm.

youtube-dl is the widest used and has support for many other sites. It takes a little bit of learning how the options work, but should be fine. I'd recommend putting it in a venv along with its cryptographic dependencies so you can update it at will.

Bitchute is being "forced" to censor in some countries, all to follow. IDK or care what Rumble is. Odysee will be "forced" to censor, they have already made a suck-ass TOS just waiting for the day they are "forced", though they have made the lbry blockchain and the desktoop app and if the desktop app gets censored you can use an alt that gets the data off the blockchain. .people need to understand that hopping from one closed source centralized "site" or "platform" is not going to work long term and just makes Suited Whores/con artists rich while small devsw who try to help you starve to death. Contribute, use and promote decentralized, FOSS stuff like lbry and bittube instead or be censored, further brainwashed aqnd corralled like the Goy they think you are.
