Brett Kavanaugh has been confirmed as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. The vote was 50-48 in favor of Kavanaugh.

Senators Collins, Flake, and Manchin had already announced their intentions to confirm Kavanaugh before the vote was held. Senator Lisa Murkowski, who was previously ready to vote "no", agreed to vote "present" instead so that Senator Steve Daines could attend his daughter's wedding instead of being present in the Senate to support Kavanaugh.

I'm not violent, but the reality here is that we're dangerously close to the point where the only way to have a grievance heard or taken seriously is via terrorism.

"I'm not violent but I'm close to advocating terrorism to get my way." Sure... Because a strict constructionist jurist was confirmed to the Supreme Court, we are close to "outright dictatorship." You are probably deranged and still have the cajones to accuse ME of being a paid troll.

It doesn't matter that most Americans disapprove of justice Kavanaugh, most of us wanted a real investigation to get to the truth. We didn't get that, what we got was a known perjurer placed on the court to rule against the will of the people and against the constitution wherever possible.

A majority (maybe) of Americans in Blue States disapprove of Kavanaugh. You howling lunatics couldn't even bully Collins into voting against confirmation with all the threats, outside money and protests you could buy. The rest of us saw it for what it was: a partisan attack by a not-very-credible psych major who cannot remember even the basic details about an event that has affected her life so considerably but is somehow absolutely sure of the teen who groped - not raped - her. The remaining two allegations are a joke at best. Ramirez admits she was shitfaced drunk and drifted in and out during the penis display incident she alleges. Even then, it took her 6 days of coaching by her attorney to "recover" her memories.

Swetnick's allegations sunk the whole circus. Even Democrats are admitting it. She attended up to ten parties where she witnessed gang rapes or assaults and never one time thought to maybe not go to the next one? She was crazy enough to have an ex-boyfriend file for a restraining order. She was sued for making false statements to an employer. She is alleged to have made false sexual harassment claims after being fired for being untruthful. You couldn't ask for a less credible witness.

You can pin that one on your boy Avanatti. Maybe if you hadn't raised him up to be a authoritative TV god when you hoped the Stormy Daniels crap was the ticket to destroy Trump, he wouldn't have crashed the party and fucked things up. Conservatives were saying he was a hack all along but the MSM made him out to be their Messiah and now they're stuck with him.

And it's partisan hacks like you that support the system. Just out of curiosity, how much are you being paid for the bullshit?

I am paid quite handsomely in liberals' tears. I expect a large dividend when I watch This Week on ABC tomorrow morning. It's too bad I dropped cable. I would be collecting a big paycheck tonight watching CNN, I'm sure.

Even if the accusations brought by Mrs. Ford were a partisan attack, the tone and logic of Mr. Kavanaugh's response was not consistent with that of an innocent man. When asked if he would support a proper investigation he quickly dodged the question by repeating his achievements and credentials. Authority figures and those with power will happily take our freedoms and dismiss our objections with statements like 'if you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear'. If Mr. Kavanaugh truly had a clear conscience regarding the accusations then he should have welcomed an investigation. You know...to "clear his good name" and whatnot.

If your daughter claimed that a man sexually assaulted her and, when confronted, that man gave the same response and attitude as Kavanaugh did then you sure as hell wouldn't be at peace with the matter. It is Mr. Kavanaugh's arrogance, outright defiance and angry temperament that makes me believe he is unworthy of a position with the highest court in our country. No, this guy should not be allowed to influence the incredibly important decisions the court will face in the next 30-50 years.

An investigation would be unlimited in scope and depth until the prosecution gets at least *something* to hang him with. And if nothing is found, witnesses can suddenly come out and say what is needed. Permitting an investigation is a suicide, political and otherwise.

Kind of like having a Star Chamber in Elizabethan times, or a Ken Starr chamber, for whom Kavanaugh worked as a partisan Republican operative while being a member of the Federalist Society and PROBably Opus Dei.

If your name was dragged through the mud on all the major networks and newspapers and you were accused by women of sexual assault on very flimsy to non-existent evidence, I'm sure you would be more than a little perturbed. He was tried and convicted by the media before any testimony was released.

I was married to a bipolar woman for years and while I was in the process of divorce, I discovered how difficult it is for a man to contradict a poor, helpless woman in distress. Luckily for me, it quickly became glaringly obvious to everyone who was telling the truth and who was lying.

I also dated a girl in high school who spread the rumor as she left town it was to have my baby (her mother moved for a job) despite the fact we had never, ever had any sexual relations of any kind. When she returned a few years later, *SHOCKINGLY* without a baby or any mention of one, she actually tried to get back together with me. Pass...

So yeah, I want to see SOME kind of corroboration or evidence (not secondhand hearsay or speculation) and I DON'T want to hear contradiction or illogical stories before I will convict a person based on the word of anyone. You are welcome to vote on emotion and blind faith but not me.

When asked if he would support a proper investigation he quickly dodged the question by repeating his achievements and credentials.

I guess you missed the part where he said he would support any action the committee decided on. He just wouldn't take the old delay bait and specifically request an FBI investigation from Trump as the Senator tried to goad him into. He knew just like the rest of us that this was all about trying to delay the confirmation in hopes that Democrats would increase their numbers in the Senate after the elections and kill the confirmation along party lines.

          Or they're drawn to me.

Regardless of the direction of attraction, the point stands that there are plenty of crazy women out there, women with an agenda *cough* Stormy *cough* and women who tell lies often enough that they truly believe them (case in point: my ex [1]). Nobody should be "believed" solely because of their gender. They should be heard WITH AN OPEN MIND. If you want to accuse someone - man or woman - of something, I want the facts, not some "I feelz they are telling the truth" crap.

[1] My daughter came home from visitation from my ex one day shortly after our divorce, upset and confused. Her mother had screamed at her during an public gathering yelling that an event she remembered never happened. The was visibly near tears saying "But Dad, I remember seeing it. I remember." I had to console her that she was correct and that it did happen. I was there and witnessed it too.

And if your son was vilified by 50% of the country - Harvey Weinstein style - with an ever evolving allegation from 36 years ago that nobody can corroborate or even provide any appurtenant details about and he claimed he was totally innocent, would you be so quick to tell him he needs to choose another profession?

I think that was the point: to investigate knowing there was no evidence, so the report would read "No evidence". And maybe worse for the Dems, would uncover their machinations... in fact it sounds like that may have happened and there may be more to come that wouldn't have bit the Dems in the ass if they'd just let it go once it was clear that evidence was lacking. Hoist by their own petard, they are....
