Chine has installed a surveillance network on the Paracel Islands in the South China Sea. Recent satellite imagery shows a new structure that appears to be anchored on the north edge of the Bombay Reef, with solar panels and a radome on top. The Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative believes the dome to be an Ocean E-Station destined to be part of the Blue Ocean Information Network which China is building for "exploration, exploitation and control" of the region. China's interest is in claiming control of the area which is currently claimed by multiple countries and to prevent the US and other countries from entering the international waters around the islands. If this continues China may very well claim the area by right of possession in the same way it claims ownership of Tibet.

The self-loathing the west seems to have against itself blinds a lot of people to the good things we do because of all of the bad things we do. America is far from what has always been advertised but it is far better than any of the other superpowers out there. Problems regarding civil and human rights can be resolved in the west, even if that progress is slow and painful. There is no progress possible in China. In China as a Muslim you get sent to reeducation or you get a Han living in your house who will make sure you eat pork and drink beer. Christians and Confucians will soon be getting the same treatment.
Hate America all you want, but don't disillusion yourself about the grass being greener in China just because they aren't America.

The question is which system is better at all out war.
Assuming we can avoid it, the current tendency is to converge. In practice it means that West's population loses freedoms, while China's gains them. Who is the sucker in this game?

no two other countries combined come even close to the sheer misery producing power of american foreign policy, which has been 100% rock solid for centuries: lie, cheat, and steal, and if that doesn't make enough of a profit for the donors, send in the spies to fund a revolution, and where that don't work, send in an army.
if you're a member of america's official underclass, supposed advances in "civil liberties" are pure fiction. you can follow police orders to the letter and still get shot.

America ≠ USA ≠ west, your weak mindfuck was noted and rejected.
Yes, some people some time in the USA do make good things. However they are far outweighed by the horrible and evil deeds of the country. USA has fucked the world so long most other nations hate it.
Now that the USA is going down and China is coming up, nations will not help the USA despite any huge flaws with China. They might come to regret it later but now there is too much bad blood for this to go any other way.
USA has made its bed, now lie in it.

Guy with a HUGE HEART. Very big heart. Great guy, tremendous Church Fan. Until he was killed in a HORRIFIC Shark Attack off Cape Cod (RIP!!!). Until his beautiful young life was savagely snuffed out by that Shark -- so sad. Sharks are giving us tremendous problems.
But China, they're putting Digital in their Ocean. To watch it very carefully. People don't know this, they eat Sharks in China. And possibly this very special Ocean Digital will help them find a lot more Sharks. And catch them -- so much delicious Shark Fin Soup. Great for a man's Whatever -- otherwise known as his Penis. And possibly China can put the Ocean Digital off Massachusetts. Off California. Off New York. To catch those horrible Sharks. To stop the Smugglers & Terrorists from coming in.
