Exactly and I wonder where we would have been without Operation Paperclip [wikipedia.org] afterwards considering our space program was built by Nazis using science they first learned with the V2. I'll probably get hate for saying this since it isn't "politically correct" but between all the Jewish scientists we got before the war, the leaps in tech the war itself gave us, and the Nazis scientists after the war? WWII was probably the best thing that ever happened to the USA as a country.
