Next-level protection: Anti-Covid HELMET uses space technologies to stop virus in its tracks (VIDEO):

The futuristic headgear is intended for use by people who are most vulnerable and who "really live their daily lives with a lot of risk" of getting sick, aeronautical engineer, Andres Felipe Giraldo, told RT's Ruptly video agency.

Yet, according to the helmet's co-creator, Ricardo Andres Conde, it will also fit "anyone who wants to protect him or herself" from the disease, which has already infected around 296,000 and killed over 10,000 people in Colombia.

[...] The helmet consists of a plastic structure, an electrical fitting, filters and a battery to allow for circulation of clean, uncontaminated air inside. While it may look big and bulky, it weighs just 650 grams (22.9 oz) and allows the user to talk on the phone without any complications as the video proves.

I especially liked the part in the video where they are wearing masks while assembling the helmets. Unfortunately the masks have exhaust valves...

Looks like it's basically a PAPR for civilian use. There's various form-factors available, with half-mask, full facial mask, and hood/helmet types. Most have the motor and filter on a separate unit with a hose connection, but some come with an integrated blower and and filter on the headpiece.

Wearing a mask (no exhaust valve, you idiots!): "I may be asymptomatic, so just in case I wear this to protect all of you. And slow down the spread of the pandemic."

Wearing this contraption: "I am really, really scared that I will catch this and die, so I am isolating myself from all of you, so you can fuck off and die."

Do we really think that this will get the sociopaths to start to wear something to slow down spread, by appealing to their selfish egoism and egoistic paranoia? What ever works. We can execute them all later.

Unless, you are asymptomatic, in your space suit, and you can't get out, and you are re-infecting yourself! Building up such a huge mass of viral load, that eventually you and your suit explode, spreading the virus to a range not normally possible. And they say viruses are too stupid to think, and come up with propagation strategies that take advantage of paranoic conservatives, and Brazilians.

I'd also note that exactly *zero* other news outlets have picked up this story, at least based on a cursory web search.

Which makes it obvious that those news agencies hate America and Americans and want to kill us all. Otherwise, this would be on the fron page (web or print) of every single American news outlet. But no, they hate us and want us to die.

The whole thing seems a bit hysterical, granted. Instead of using early contact tracing and testing to get out in front of it and contain it, we get yet another media FUD narrative. Our institutions have failed us, so be afraid! Everybody for themselves! It's such an American way of doing things, too. It's too bad that we couldn't have taken direction from South Korea.

The media of course wants your eyeballs. So a public health issue gets scooped up by the media and turned into a big political issue. In the process, most of the credibility gets sucked out of the issue by the media's lack of credibility. Don't pretend that Faux News isn't part of the media. The narrative is under control from both ends. The RNC's goal of killing off undesirables is being accomplished, and the political goals of the sources that take direction from the DNC may or may not be accomplished.

Only massive working class action can get us public health systems capable of handling things like COVID. They're just nature doing its thing, and they're going to keep happening.
