Who the hell still uses AOL? Apparently, CIA boss John Brenner. The New York Post had several phone conversations with an individual who claimed that he gained access to Brenner's email and phone accounts, downloaded a number of classified documents and posted them on Twitter. The hacker identified himself as a high school student, and part of a group called "Crackaz With Attitude".
The FBI and other federal agencies are now investigating the hacker, with one source saying criminal charges are possible, law enforcement sources said.
"I think they'll want to make an example out of him to deter people from doing this in the future," said a source who described the situation as "just wild" and "crazy."
"I can't believe he did this to the head of the CIA,'' the source added. "[The] problem with these older-generation guys is that they don't know anything about cybersecurity, and as you can see, it can be problematic."
Government officials say that the FBI and Secret Service are investigating the matter, but deny that any classified materials were compromised.
The cracker remains at large, for now. He also talked to Wired, providing some detailed information on how he pulled it off.

I can. Old fogies like him don't know what the term cyber security even means. I'm pretty sure he considers his own computer an enemy as he can't use the damn thing. And get off his lawn while you're at it.
Possible? I'd be floored if they did not throw the book at him. They are just playing it really cool so as not to scare this kid like they did with Aaron Swartz. You can make a better example out of someone who lives through a kangaroo court trial to be eternally punished.
So a jew then...
...Or just a dick. Perhaps even a jewish dick.
Not much hacking here. Just some simple tricks. Goes to show you how useless business security is. Glad they are protecting their customers accounts and information.

All in all this is a pretty funny, yet sad story. Funny that some old geezer who happens to be the head of the CIA got his AOL account hacked. Sad in the sense that companies can't protect our information that they claim to protect.
Personal experience of how secure Verizon is:
Hi sir, what's your pin?
What pin?
When you opened your account you created a pin to securely access your account.
That was three years ago. How the hell can I remember that?
Okay sir, one moment... How can I help you today!

If he really has revealed yet more mishandling of classified information, then I applaud him for having the guts to do this.
Nonetheless, we can be assured that no penalty will be paid by the person who actually may have sent classified information to his private email account (just as Hillary has not, and will not). However, the little fish who dared point out that the Emperor has no clothes? If he is found, he will be paraded around as a dangerous hacker, and spend the rest of his life in jail, likely in solitary confinement. You are not supposed to embarrass your betters.
Silly of us, to think that government officials are supposed to be responsible for their actions.
Everyone is somebody else's weirdo.

In a series of phone conversations with The Post, the hacker described himself as an American high school student who is not Muslim and was motivated by opposition to US foreign policy and support for Palestine.
So a jew then...
No. US support for Palestine is trivial compared to US support for Israel. He was motivated by his support for Palestine.

Thank you for that correction. I read that as he was against american support for palestine.
