You can now order zombies using your ride-sharing app. In New York and San Francisco, Lyft has arranged for actors dressed as zombies to appear at your desired location this Halloween. Meanwhile, CareerBuilder has analyzed data about America's 53 largest cities to determine which one is most likely to survive a zombie attack, weighting 8 factors including the percentage of engineers in the population and the number of small arms manufacturers.

Exploiting the popular fascination with zombies has apparently become a new Halloween tradition for everyone from job-finding sites to self-published authors. One blog even notes the number of zombie-themed ebooks in Amazon's Kindle Store has doubled every year since 2011, peaking this year at 15,659 different titles.

(Apologies to Mr Reginald Shoe c/o the estate of Terry Pratchett).

May I be the first to express outrage at this exploitation of the vitally challenged and the vile perpetration of the stereotypical image of zombies as an attacking, brain-eating hoard.

I suppose this is unsurprising considering that less than 1% of tech company CEOs are undead, and there have even been cases of workers having their employment terminated and their driving licenses revoked on account of them being dead.

Soylent News should set up a campaign to purchase several million Raspberry PIs and deliver them to graveyards around the world in order to allow the differently-alive masses to gain coding skills in a safe environment.

Yeah, I actually thought this was going to be another article about how contracts are written in such a way to favor the tech company, and that they laugh behind closed doors about all the stupid zombies doing work for them.
