As if they hadn't discredited the movement enough already, feminists are now reportedly attempting to collect scalps from notable men in tech. And they're not worried about little things like the sexual assault they report actually happening.

Feminists in tech have been staging attempted "honey traps" to frame prominent male software developers for sexual assault, according to explosive claims on the blog of Eric S. Raymond, a pioneer of the open source movement. In allegations that will rock the world of software development, prominent targets included Linus Torvalds, creator of the Linux kernel.

Raymond quoted excerpts from an online chat with a trusted source, who told him that the Ada Inititiative, a recently-discontinued feminist advocacy group in tech, was trying to "collect scalps" by concocting charges of attempted sexual assault against male software developers.

The source told Raymond that the "MO" of the feminists was to "get alone with the target, and then immediately report "attempted sexual assault." The source said he had stopped mentoring female developers over fears that they might fabricate such charges.

In before someone disbelieves the message because they dislike the messenger.

Self-identification is meaningless. The KKK self-identifies as "Christian" even though Jesus taught nothing but selflessness, pacifism, love everyone, etc. I can self-identify as God or the President or the Pope or an Alien from Alpha Centarii III or the planet Pluto but it doesn't actually make me one. "Feminists" who aren't advocating equality aren't feminists by definition, the KKK aren't Christians by definition, and ISIS and similar groups aren't Muslims by definition, unless the only definition for each one is "Self-identifies as a member of this group", and if that's the definition you're using for them then they're meaningless words which have no use.

What makes your definition of a Muslim more correct than their definition? I think their is a sufficiently sizeable proportion of people who do think that Daesh and similar groups are Muslims to make them so. Note that many words have multiple definitions, there is no reason that the word "Muslim" cannot be defined a number of different ways.

And saying Islam is a religion is peace is a load of bullshit. It was primarily spread by war (as was Christianity), I think it is quite dishonest to ignore the history of something when making claims about its nature.

As I got a little sidetracked there, my point relevant to this discussion, is that there are a sufficient number of people who call themselves feminists who do seem to hate men and want to turn the table such that women get better treatment than men, rather than actually wanting equality for women, that it is a valid label for them.
