Hearing from the leaders of the tech world is always revealing, and very often surprising. In our second annual Silicon Valley Insiders Poll, a panel of 101 executives, innovators, and thinkers weigh in on some of the biggest technological, political, and cultural questions of the moment.
So when we ran an unscientific poll of leaders and thinkers in tech, we had to ask: Which technology do you wish you could un-invent? What innovation do you think should go "back in the box" and be banished forever?
The two winning responses were: selfie sticks and nuclear weapons.
But let's go through some runners-up first.

Damn, you beat me to it.
I was going to say GUI, but this works as well.
Invariably, if somebody is allergic to the command line, they are going to be a piss poor programmer and a downright risk on the public internet.
Also, let me throw this out there. I know it's false and based on faulty reasoning, but whatever. Since we Need More Women Coders! Everyone Can Code! &ct wasn't there some bunkum research that said women are better with written language? Command line!

Most people are not going to be programmers at all, no matter what input device they use.
How is a moron who mindlessly clicks "Yes" to every security confirmation box popping up any more dangerous than a moron mindlessly pressing "Y" to every security confirmation question appearing on the terminal?
