An Anonymous Coward offers the following:

Erwin Proell, the governor of Lower Austria (the largest of Austria's 9 states, with a population of 1.6 million) announced on Thursday that his state now gets 100% of its electricity from renewable sources (63% hydroelectric, 26% wind, 9% biomass and 2% solar).

"Since 2002 we have invested 2.8 billion euros ($3bn) in eco-electricity, from solar parks to renewing (hydroelectric) stations on the Danube," Proell told a news conference.

Sure, it's easier to go all-renewable when you only need to put a bunch of Kangaroos on treadmills.

    This is Austria, not Australia.

And their accomplishments won't matter anyway, because the place will be overrun by filthy immigrant savages leaving a sea of reckless breeding, garbage, and violence in their wake. The technology will be destroyed and people will be once again living in caves and mud-huts.

O' Jesus Christ -- save our White, Christian nations from the plagues of filthy locusts!

The trolling of the troll! He called them Krauts in the title, which is also incorrect, but that's the point.

I bought a T-shirt in Salzburg that proclaimed NO KANGAROOS IN AUSTRIA over a picture of cows dancing on an Alpine mountainside, on their hind feet, holding calves in belly pouches.

Sadly, it was cheap and crappy and didn't last long. But I'll never forget those Mozartkugeln...

          > But I'll never forget those Mozartkugeln

Which translates to "But I'll never forget those Mozart balls"...
I had to do some searching to understand what you meant.

But it's Lower Austria. You know, the bit "down under" the rest.

lower australia is home to one of the world's largest known shallow deposits of brown coal in the world, as well as large natural gas reserves... no matter how much coin the greenies can scrounge there's no way lower australia will ever be powered by all renewable sources
