I'm actually looking for two things: good magazines I haven't found, and good magazines to submit science fiction stories to. I also want to know where I can find your favorite magazines; I've been getting them at the Barnes&Noble in town, but they sell out quickly. Once all they had was three copies of F&SF, and I found it to be excellent. Another time I found five titles, but I haven't seen Asimov's there, and I always liked that one.

Analog was excellent as well, as they've always been. The British Interzone was very well designed, with excellent layout and large amounts of excellent artwork, but I didn't like any of the writing. It just didn't suit my taste.

I have yet to find any decent online mags, I'm sure you guys can supply me with that.

I read a lot of magazines, back in the day. I guess comic books almost qualified as magazines, then I graduated to things like F&SF, Asimov's. "Pulp fiction", but with the SF twist. Then, I moved on to short stories and novels. And even greater works like Dune and Foundation. Somewhere along the way, I guess I forgot all about magazines.

I still love short stories. Sometimes, I just want to go adventuring, but don't want to commit to a full-blown novel. Short stories are great. I even read that short-ish story recently, 'Mars, Ho', by some guy named Steve Something-or-other. (Just bustin your chops a little, mcgrew - it was a pretty good story!)

I feel like Amazon is a pretty good place to be published. I often hit their book store, and browse. I've sometimes typed something into the Kindle store search, just to see what comes up. Click it, and it comes up in the Kindle Online reader, and I can read it right in the browser.

I'm reluctant to open an account anywhere else. There's that whole thing with proprietary formats, many of which are incompatible with any thing else, blah blah blah. And, if the seller goes out of business, you've lost your entire collection, more blah blah blah. I really want my books in PDF format, so that I can move them to any device I like, install any old PDF reader, and read to my heart's content. The various DRM measures just piss me off. Even Kindle - I can't just download and save all my books, then open them up in Calibre when I'm offline. For that reason, more than any other, I frequent the Bittorrent book stores. All of those books are DRM free, you can take them anywhere, read them any time, and back them up as many times as you wish.

I'm going to hit the site suggested by joekiser above, and see what it's all about. I'm glad you made this submission - maybe some others will post more good suggestions. It's always good to broaden the horizons.

“Ultimately it comes down to the desire to be where our customers are, to play fair with them in the assumption that they’ll play fair with us. And you know something? It’s worked.” - Tom Doherty on going DRM Free. Tor books are DRM free, they went that way a few years ago. http://www.tor.com/2014/05/28/tom-doherty-tor-books-book-expo-of-america-2014/ [tor.com]

Recently Tor has focused on producing short stories. Maybe you could take a look at them and submit some stories to them? The February announcement stated they were accepting agented submissions only, but would be re-opening to unsolicited submissions in a few months. http://www.tor.com/2015/02/12/announcing-torcoms-inaugural-novella-list/ [tor.com]
