  I used to have a Google+, but after several years of it being idle - only three friends/family members ever got accounts, and none of us ever really posted anything there - I deleted it when word got around that it was possible to do so without messing up other services. The only thing that deleting it really affected was my ability to leave ratings for Android apps in Google Play - it still requires a Google+ account to do that, not just a Gmail address.
