Research based on the previous four summer Olympics has indicated that travel during the Olympics typically does not exceed baseline travel volume patterns to the host city

[...] With the exception of [Chad, Djibouti, Eritrea, and Yemen], the Games do not pose a unique or substantive risk for mosquito-borne transmission of Zika virus in excess of that posed by non-Games travel.

The CDC mentions that the assessment is based on worse case scenario projections that include assuming maximal seasonal transmission, no anti-mosquito precautions, and returning to the home country at the point of maximal viremia.

Women should receive mandatory testing for Zika, and any pregnant woman with Zika should be forced to abort.

There are some cases where, sadly, prenatal testing cannot detect defects. But if a woman receives an ultrasound and the doctor discovers a Garbage Pail Kid in the womb, then snip snip, into the trash it goes.

Any mother who willingly gives birth to a Zika baby should be herself killed after her abomination is.

Dude, there is trolling, and there is hitting teacups with fire hoses.

Tone it down a little, you know, like taking her in a back alley and slapping her around for a bit. That will teach her to not become a victim and grow those babies correctly?

You're correct about one thing: PEOPLE should receive mandatory testing for Zika in affected areas, and an infected pregnant woman should be offered the pregnancy care she needs. If the child is truly better of being aborted.... there but for the grace of God go we, and leave it to her to decide.

It's nobody fault to be pestered by mosquitoes, and mosquito prevention actually costs money, time, and effort. Meaning, it's not a reasonable assumption we can make that it was *easy* to not be infected. Blaming the victim *and* punishing them?? You're having quite a day huh? Is it the election? The prospect of vagina in the White House? Sand in your vagina?

Probably not. The data would be useful to scientists, but money would be better spent on other public health activities such as mosquito control.

What's with the notion that the mother is always the main victim? It's the baby that's gonna have to suffer most because of someone else's love for sports.
