Television news has long used graphics at the bottom of their screens to identify the people and places in their stories – but with the 2016 presidential race, two networks lately have been injecting analysis into them during their news reporting.

It started in June when Donald Trump denied having said Japan should have nuclear weapons. CNN inserted this snarky line in their chyron:

TRUMP: I NEVER SAID JAPAN SHOULD HAVE NUKES (HE DID)

[...] While fact-checking may or may not be a legitimate new use of the chyron, what is noticeable is a distinct absence of chyron fact-checking for various claims made by Clinton.

For instance, Clinton recently told Fox News' Chris Wallace that FBI Director James Comey had called her answers about her private email use as secretary of state "truthful" – he did not make such a sweeping statement.

Don't you know, you have to be approved by the elite

Don't YOU know that Trump IS the elite? Sheesh, he's a damned billionaire. You believe that bullshit about "blue collar billionaire?" Where are the callouses on his hands? How many factory workers do you know who eat KFC with a knife and fork?

    Hillary is simply corrupt.

She's not the one who's being sued for FRAUD.

It's doubtful that she has any principles other than power and personal enrichment.

You're confused, fellow. Look at her wikipedia page, it contradicts you. Now look at Trump's history. HE'S the one with no morals or character, who stomps on "little people" like all the construction workers he stiffed, the widow whose house he tried to take under eminent domain so he could pave it for parking? Trump University??

Wake up and smell the bullshit, fool.

Nah, you're right. Not being prosecuted for her crimes because the current administration is shot through with her cronies makes her the epitome of integrity and honor.

She's not the one who's being sued for FRAUD.

No, no. She's simply used her powers to vote for unconstitutional bills and horrendous wars, as well as allowed herself to be bought off by corporations. How could that be construed as corruption?

"But Trump is worse!!" isn't going to fly here. No one is that stupid.

You're confused, fellow. Look at her wikipedia page, it contradicts you.

I'm not seeing anything on the Wikipedia page that doesn't make her look like a standard lying, flip-flopping politician who will do and say anything to obtain more power.

She's advocated for government censorship of the Internet to disrupt communication from terrorists, she claimed to be opposed to gay marriage in the past when it was less politically popular, she supports mass surveillance, she supports prosecuting Snowden (duh), she's anti-strong encryption, she was a prominent figure advocating for censorship of video games in the past, she voted for the Iraq war, etc. She'll participate in any fearmongering competition and vote for evil shit just to increase her popularity; she has no morals or principles to stand for. Trump is no better, since many of the policies he claims to support are unconstitutional as well.

Face it: Both of these candidates are utter dog shit.

Fifty former national security officials who served under Republican Presidents just signed a letter asserting that Trump is not qualified to be President or CiC [nytimes.com]. Including Tom Ridge, Carla Hills, and Michael Chertoff. Fifty.
