Since its cancellation in 2003, science fiction television series Firefly has achieved a powerful cult status. Interest from the show's loyal fanbase has helped launch a feature film and comic books as means of continuing the series. Fans express continued interest in a series revival, although 13 years out that looks increasingly unlikely.
Animator Stephen Byrne offers a glimpse of what could be: a short teaser trailer for an animated Firefly . There's no dialogue, but all the characters are there doing many of the things you would expect and hope for. Could this lead to an animated Firefly revival? Or is it too late?
Personally, I'd be more likely to shell out for yet another exclusive streaming service for this than for the new Star Trek series...

everyone, please admit that the series was bad.
the movie was great, but only because they no longer needed filler material.
the premise and everything were not fit for a series, plain and simple.
why is everyone stuck on this series? how can people complain about beating the dead horse when it comes to star wars and star trek, but those same people don't realize that the serenity movie is self-contained and good by itself? please, let the actors and writers focus on a distinct good story.
the series? come on... two or three good episodes, the rest was basically junk with a couple of long story ark info thrown in from time to time so that people wouldn't lose interest and we'd be forced to watch the whole stupid thing.

I had always read amazing things about Firefly, but when I finally got around to watching it I wasn't that excited by it to be honest. It's ok, but there were parts that I didn't really like. Overall though the series has a charm to it, and the movie was quite good, so I can see why people like it.
I think the animation in the YouTube video is well done, but it looks like the animators for Aladdin have had a go at Firefly, which doesn't seem to work.
