A federal judge on Friday ordered Hillary Clinton to provide written testimony under oath about why she set up a private computer server to send and receive emails while secretary of state, ensuring that the issue will continue to dog her presidential campaign until the eve of the election.

In a brief ruling issued on Friday afternoon, the judge, Emmet G. Sullivan of Federal District Court in Washington, approved a motion by the conservative advocacy organization Judicial Watch to pursue its vigorous campaign to expose Mrs. Clinton's use of the private server. In addition to requiring her testimony in writing, the judge allowed the group to depose a senior State Department aide who had warned two subordinates not to question her email practices.

Only six weeks ago, the director of the F.B.I., James B. Comey Jr., declined to recommend prosecuting Mrs. Clinton, saying that while her actions had been careless, they did not amount to a crime. Yet the controversy refuses to dissipate. This week, the bureau turned over to Congress the documents it compiled in the case, including a three-and-a-half hour interview with Mrs. Clinton, even as Republicans in Congress pressed their public case for her to be charged with perjury.

    > I'll take Hillary's picks over the orange clown's whims any day.

When he has a policy and isn't just on all sides of everything so he can always claim to be right, Trump is basically the republican party on steroids. Anti-labor (remember he started his campaign saying there should be no minimum wage, uses overseas manufacturers for his schwag and continues to hire foreign workers on H2B visas to be housekeepers at his resorts), pro rich-guy (anti-tax for rich people, pro childcare benefits for rich people, but no childcare benefits for his own low-wage employees [thehill.com]), anti immigrant (mexican rapists, etc).

So it should be no surprise that his list of scotus nominees is a republican party dream team. [breitbart.com] If you don't like Trump's scotus picks then you aren't a republican. And that's OK. Trump's been a teachable moment for a lot of people who thought they were republicans but hadn't seriously looked at their party for a good long time.

Basically right. He's re-running Pat Buchanan's campaigns from the early '90s, but with more showmanship and flair honed from his 10 years as reality TV host.

But if you look at his tax plans, it's a giveaway to the rich, following the trickle down theory of economic growth. People earning less that $200K get a "tax break" that works out to be peanuts, and the budget deficits will explode on his watch.
