Are you ready for a cosmic shift of epic proportions? You’d better be, because such a shift is approaching, courtesy of our moon! This Friday, September 30th, the moon will be new but ‘black.’ During a black moon, the side of Earth’s natural satellite lit by the sun faces away from our planet. As a result, …

Also at Space.com which clarifies that when there are two New Moons in a single calendar month, the second one is called a Black Moon. This is analogous to a "Blue Moon" which is the second Full Moon occurring in a single calendar month.

You don't have ad blockers? All the time I hear about popups, advertising, etc ad nauseum. Guy at work complaining about that shit - I showed him the MVPS HOSTS file. Held his hand, showed him the site, and told him to FUCKING READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before downloading the file. I didn't bother showing him HOSTESS, but maybe I'll suggest that tonight.

FFS, people, stop whining, and fix your own damned internet. The predators aren't going to fix it for you.

I have no opinion on the site itself - I've not clicked on it.

    Well said.

I don't know how anybody can use the Internet at all any more without ad blockers. 3-party ad networks and trackers unacceptably degrade the performance of any given page. Sometimes even the overwrought page designs irritate me so much I switch to browsing with Lynx for a while to cleanse the palate; with vi keys enabled it's pretty seamless between it and Firefox/Chrome/etc with the vimperator/virome plugins.

There are alternative ways to cope: Haldol for one, or Thorazine.
