Twitch boss Matthew DiPietro is clear that the industry needs to do more about online sexism in gaming.
The senior executive was speaking to us from the streaming site's headquarters in San Francisco.
Gamers have told Newsbeat about their experiences and Twitch says it's doing all it can to stamp out sexism on the platform.
But Matthew tells us this isn't a problem that Twitch can solve on its own.
He says the industry needs to invest money to "move forward on this issue".
He's calling for "investment in terms of people, education and money.

I've heard about Twitch human mods banning people for petty reasons, including what they do off-site.

As bad as YouTube might be in some regards, you won't get banned for streaming non-gaming related shit (not sure if that policy is still in place since I barely use Twitch).
Finally, back on the topic [bbc.co.uk], YouTube has recently introduced YouTube Heroes [youtube.com] (take note of the like-dislike ratio), a program that makes no attempt to hide that it will hand out the ability to "mass flag" videos to sufficiently bored 12-year-olds. I've also heard some secondhand rumors that big changes along the same lines are coming to YouTube within the next few months. A lot of big YouTubers are speaking out about the changes (and getting paid... those millions of clickbait views are monetized). Watch what happens, it should be popcorn-worthy.
