Dr. Lowe writes:

A report in the Chinese newspaper Economic Information Daily says that the Chinese SFDA (State Food and Drug Administration) has been conducting a review of Chinese clinical trial practices, and after reviewing 1,622 trials has found that most of them are seriously flawed. And by "seriously flawed", they mean "largely faked". The story says that "More than 80 percent of applications for mass production of new drugs have been canceled in the light of the findings, with officials warning that further evidence malpractice could still emerge in the scandal."

Radio Free Asia writes:

According to the SFDA report, much of the data gathered during clinical trials were incomplete, failed to meet analysis requirements or were untraceable, the paper cited a source in the agency as saying.

It said some companies were suspected of deliberately hiding or deleting records of adverse effects, and tampering with data that did not meet expectations.

[...] Public safety problems in China aren't limited to the pharmaceutical industry and the figure of 80 percent is unlikely to surprise many in a country where citizens routinely engage in the bulk-buying of overseas-made goods like infant formula powder.

Guangdong-based rights activist Mai Ke said there is an all-pervasive culture of fakery across all products made in the country.

"It's not just the medicines," Mai said. "In China, everything is fake, and if there's a profit in pharmaceuticals, then someone's going to fake them too."

I modded this up since its just a rhyming joke. I guess you can argue its a little racist since it specifies the person's nationality and plays on poor english language skills, but on the scale of racist trolling this doesn't even register for me. I would normally pass this by, but I just don't like the thought crime society we've created for ourselves.

On a sidenote: saw a scene from Zootopia where an ocelot(?) calls the rabbit cop a bunny(I think) and she says "oooh, actually only other rabbits can call each other bunny" and the ocelot is very apologetic. It left a sour taste in my mouth, teaching kids that they have to be overly sensitive to every little thing. Personally I prefer the simple rules of don't be mean to other people, and if you hurt someone just apologize and move on. Creating taboo words is the kiddie version of thought crimes, and I would prefer that people look at intent instead of content to determine whether they should actually be offended. Humans have always self-corrected language, it doesn't take long for people to stop using words that others are offended by, no need for public campaigns. What got me going on this line of thinking was when a group of kids were shocked when I said something was "retarded" (not referring to a person) and they informed me that I can't say that. Just. Plain. Stupid.

This is part of why we get teenagers making rape jokes and saying shit that would get them executed in some countries. Some see through this bullshit and just ramp it up to 11, the rest are left to waste their time and energy getting outraged at non-issues and creating such an air of stupidity that we get people supporting Trump just because they think "he tells it like it is".

      i feel your brain...
they are ALL my words, i will use them as i see fit...
and -to paraphrase- words are neither good nor bad, but thinking makes them so...
of course, all the uber-PC word policing you are referring to is retarded and counterproductive, but -hey- someone gets to feel morally superior in denigrating someone else, so that's the important part... (w-a-i-t a minute, aren't they 'haters' then ? ? ? hmmmm...)
heh, all you uber-PC 'tards, i am radiating hate-rays at you right now, it is a REAL hate crime, can you feel it ? ? ?
