Boeing's CEO says his company will be the first to put a man on Mars:

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is aiming to start a Martian colony within the next decade, but another rival CEO says his company will actually be the one to put humans on the Red Planet first. Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg recently answered questions at the "Whats Next" tech conference in Chicago, and when asked about the future of his company, he focused on breakthroughs in space travel. "I'm convinced that the first person to step foot on Mars will arrive there riding on a Boeing rocket," said Muilenburg, according to Bloomberg.

[...] Currently, Boeing is designing and developing the Space Launch System, the massive rocket that NASA wants to use to send people to Mars. So when Muilenburg says the first people will get to the planet with a Boeing rocket, he's most likely referring to the SLS.

I'm just waiting for mars to become the destination for the masses...

That way I can ride in a spaceship designed similar to our current planes.

Our new spacelines(?) will continue the quest to pack as many people in at once like sardines.
I can experience an entire trip to Mars with the person in front of me leaning their seat back to crush my knees.
Or a screaming child behind me kicking the back of my chair. However, instead of hours, the trip will last months.

The security will still be run by the TSA with its normal level of ineffectual security theater.
Due to the threat from biological agents entering the limited and highly controlled artificial environment on Mars there will be a new cavity search done by the "probulator" machine. (mandatory, of course.)

And, of course, on paper, the spacelines will not make any money at all. (while their CEOs make billions.) They will be forced to institute new fees to make ends meet. And because it is not prevalent in space the first fee to be tacked on at check-in will be the "oxygen use fee" based on your lung capacity...

    Yup... I can't wait...

But at the end of it all, you'll get to live and work on a desolate planet with little to do, no close contact with most of your loved ones, big duststorms, no breathable atmosphere, and no hot natives. At least your lardass will only weigh 38% as much as on Earth.

This says more about your creativity than anything to do with Mars. I see this in my job(s) at Yellowstone. Some people are always out and about, exploring some new part of Yellowstone. And other people are getting drunk every night because they can't think of anything better to do.

I can't wait for "Naked and Afraid on Mars" , "Survivor: Mars" or "Big Brother: Mars".
