El Reg reports
Microsoft may have used its Ignite conference to trumpet Windows 10 now running on 400 million devices, but the operating system's market share went backwards in September according to two of three traffic-watchers we track each month.
StatCounter Global Stats has Windows 10 at 24.42 per cent desktop OS market share for September, down just .01 per cent from its August share. Netmarketshare recorded a sharper dip, from August's 22.99 per cent to a September reading of 22.53 per cent.
[...] StatCounter has recently recorded a surge in "Unknown" desktop operating systems, [...] suggesting tracking and/or methodological issues.
We therefore checked out another useful source of data, [USA.gov]. When we crunched those numbers, we found Windows 10 accounted for 31.98 per cent of visits to US government sites in August and 32.48 per cent in September, which hardly suggests Microsoft's latest OS is rocketing up the charts.
[...] Our analysis of this data last month suggested Windows 10 has done very well at home, but is yet to crack the business market.

People are putting Win 7 back on because they are tired of the BSOD of the week ...FTFY.
Frankly I haven't seen a Windows OS this bad since WinME, in fact even with the fugly cellphone GUI of Windows 8 the actual OS was rock solid stable, but Win 10? Sheeit, that thing crashes if you look at the damned thing sideways. And we aren't talking old hardware either, I've had many a core i5 and FX 8 brought in because the users were tired of the fucking thing crashing, hanging, and being in the middle of something only to have it BSOD. Its so bad I have a couple of gamer customers currently testing SteamOS because they are simply sick of being in the middle of a match only to have this happen [youtu.be]. And notice the YouTuber in that vid is asking about SteamOS in the comments, I guess he is sick of BSODs too
So I really wouldn't be surprised to see the numbers go down over the coming months as the number of hangs and BSODs with this POS OS is like something out of the mid 90s, I swear bleeding edge Linux distros aren't anywhere near this buggy!
ACs are never seen so don't bother. Always ready to show SJWs for the racists they are.
