has found the following story:

Mobile phones have already been banned from UK Cabinet meetings, and now another gadget has reportedly been shown the door: the Apple Watch.

The [latest] concern, according to a Telegraph story Monday, is that smartwatches and phones could be hacked by Russian spies and turned into listening devices. "The Russians are trying to hack everything," a source told The Telegraph.

Hacking has become an increasingly serious concern for governments. Last week, the White House officially accused Russia of trying to interfere with US elections, including hacking into the computers of the Democratic National Committee and other agencies and political officials.

[Ed's Comment: This is by no means unusual. All radio devices are usually banned from secure environments. I speculate that this is simply a case of the 'Apple Watch' becoming a named device on the list of banned items, and the press hearing it for the first time.]

Not much of a hack as it's what that kit's for.
