1st Gear: The Apple Car Is No More
Building cars is hard. Tesla knows that. Google learned it the hard way too. And the latest tech giant to discover limits to its car-building ambitions is Apple, which according to Bloomberg , has given up on making its own car.
Granted, I've always thought that Apple's ultimate aim was to develop software or technology it could use to partner with existing automakers, rather than its own vehicle, but now that definitely seems to be the case. Now Apple is focused on creating autonomous systems for other companies.

Apple went from being way far ahead of the rest of the entire computer industry, but unwilling to license its technology, to a company whose entire future is now tied to iPhones -- and that won't last forever.
To transfer files: right-click on file, pick Copy. Unplug mouse, plug mouse into other computer. Right-click, paste.

Good point. And remember, any of these big companies can quickly gain a leg up in any sub-industry by opening their checkbooks and overpaying for startups with a hit product.

Whether or not the iPhone lasts forever, I just want the Librem phone [puri.sm] to exist.
Can you imagine a blob/binary free smartphone with hardware kill switches running GNU/Linux? Fully open to hack, develop, and customize?
Freedom over here on one hand............ and Walled Garden w/ corporate surveillance on the other hand.
Tough choice :)
