Yet another United States Postal Service employee is joining The Mail Carrier Hall Of Shame, after being accused of dumping hundreds of pieces of mail into a ditch — while a local filmed the whole thing.

The USPS is investigating after residents in Decatur, GA reported seeing a mail carrier throwing several bins of mail into the woods behind a subdivision, WSB-TV reports.

The subdivision's HOA president witnessed the dumping on Tuesday, and sent the news station video and photos of incident.

"I sat there and recorded for about five minutes. And he continued to just grab more mail and continued to just toss it over the fence," she told WSB-TV. "At one point he actually stopped and took a break like he was tired, and continued to toss the mail. He eventually drove off like it was normal."

The station tipped off USPS, and the agency dispatched investigators to the scene. Once there, it took five postal workers two hours to collect more than a dozen bins' worth of mail.

      I hate junk mail.
But I've been ok with throwing it in the recycling bin in order to keep the post office working when I need it (though dropping to 4-days-per-week delivery wouldn't hurt me at all).
On the other hand, it's getting a bit insane right now, despite now being a battleground state (lots of propositions - I should write a story about the 222-page voter guide).

I imagine people in Ohio have enough paper by now to warm up McMansions for the whole winter, even if it's a really cold one (Armageddon is right around the corner, given the World Series lineup).

My wife who is a diehard republican. We get MOUNTAINS of the stuff. So being in a battleground state. The DNC has decided to try to peal off a few women votes. Now she gets BOTH RNC and DNC mail. I regularly get doubles of everything from the RNC because for some ridiculous reason they think I am going to send the 500 dollars. I am not sending my small amount of money to millionaires for them to waste on more mail advertisements.

Reminds me of the time I donated $500 to the ACLU. For the next year they sent me $500 worth of begging letters with prepay envelopes that I used to request they stop sending me begging letters. Fuck 'em.
