The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has sent a letter demanding George Hotz's company comma.ai provide information pertaining to the safety of their system (https://www.scribd.com/document/329218929/2016-10-27-Special-Order-Directed-to-Comma-ai).

This morning [28 Oct], Ars Technica reports that George Hotz tweeted from Shenzhen that the comma one was now cancelled (https://twitter.com/comma_ai/status/791958413345382400).

comma.ai had just received a $3.1m investment from Andreessen-Horowitz in April (http://money.cnn.com/2016/04/04/technology/george-hotz-comma-ai-andreessen-horowitz/index.html).

Excuse me? What the fuck is Comma.Ai?

I mean damn, the summary doesn't even provide a proper link to find out. After copying and pasting the non-hyperlinked URL:

George Hotz is the founder of Comma.ai, an autonomous driving startup that's roughly six months old. On Monday, top VC firm Andreessen Horowitz announced a $3.1 million investment in the company.

Comma.ai is working on a kit that will make it possible to turn regular vehicles into semi-autonomous ones. In October, Hotz purchased a 2016 Acura ILX, cameras and GoPro mounts and started developing the technology out of his San Francisco garage.

Was it really so hard to mention this in the summary?

That was exactly what the regulators wanted to know. It's kind of appropriate that the story doesn't include it, since the company didn't feel like telling the government.

    What the fuck is Comma.Ai?

It's a new sub-genre of Japanese doujin for grammar Nazis.

I was able to find out what the article was about by mousing over the Ars link. The full url contains the phrase "cancels-self-driving-car-product," which was enough for me to ignore the story.

...then I came back to complain about the summary.
