Computers, phones, and even online stores are starting to use your face as a password. But new research from Carnegie Mellon University shows that facial recognition software is far from secure.

In a paper (pdf) presented at a security conference on Oct. 28, researchers showed they could trick AI facial recognition systems into misidentifying faces—making someone caught on camera appear to be someone else, or even unrecognizable as human. With a special pair of eyeglass frames, the team forced commercial-grade facial recognition software into identifying the wrong person with up to 100% success rates.

As a wearer of reading glasses, I now want a new pair with a new frame! I want to open a shop right away with "Print Your Own Face Frame Glasses".

I need to make my shop mobile and follow all the demonstrations with mobile printing facilities. Many countries have laws against wearing full-face masks. But this, wearing glasses, is hardly something you can make laws against (well, stupidity might prevail at those levels). Anyway, a Fortune is to be made with almost no investment!

Whereas... it is known that terrorists wear glasses, it shall from hereon forth be prohibited to wear glasses. All individuals with impaired eye-sight will be issued one (1) pair of on-retina-lenses or, if they choose not to accept these on-retina-lenses, will be deported to a re-education camp. These on-retina-lenses will be equipped with technology that enables the GoD (Government Of the Day) to track compliance in wearing of the lenses and will also enable the GoD to observe what you observe... in order to ensure the public's safety, of course! Any attempt to tamper with these government issued on-retina-lenses or lack of compliance in wearing them will be equated to a subversive action and result in a fine of no more than 150.000 USD AND a prison sentence to be served in a re-education camp [wikipedia.org].

Whereas anyone with eye-sight that is sufficient enough to not require corrective lenses, will be mandated to visit a GoD-appointed ophtalmologist [wikipedia.org] which will 'check' your eyes with a laser. If said appointed medical professional deems it to be the case that you need lenses, you will be issued said lenses and will fall under the rules as described above.

    You're welcome!

    Don't bet on it: https://redditblog.com/2015/10/14/cambodia-khmer-rouge-murder-eyeglasses-intellectuals/ [redditblog.com]

OK, pedantically, wearing glasses wasn't technically outlawed by the Khmer Rouge, but I think the distinction is lost on someone murdered by their government for no other reason.
