Los Angeles police have charged Playboy model Dani Mathers over a "body-shaming" image she took of an older woman in a gym locker room. The picture of the naked 70-year-old was taken in LA Fitness in July without her consent and posted on social media. She uploaded the photo to Snapchat alongside one of herself and the caption: "If I can't unsee this then you can't either". Ms Mathers faces a charge of invasion of privacy. She could face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 (£800) fine if convicted.

Ms Mathers, 29, apologised soon after uploading the image, saying she thought her Snapchat post had been a private conversation and acknowledging that "body-shaming" is wrong. However, her lawyer, Thomas Mesereau, is quoted in the Los Angeles Times as saying his client did nothing illegal, neither invading anyone's privacy nor violating any laws. Announcing the decision to charge the model, Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer took aim at "body-shaming", calling it "humiliating, with often painful, long-term consequences".

I've seen those AC posts before. I thought he was just a strangely persistent troll but apparently he's sincere.

    What a strange person.

    "What a strange person."

    I love this.

This is as far as anybody's reaction should go toward people like the AC in question. I actually laugh hysterically at some of the extremely sincere ridiculous things that MikeeUSA has said online. It's just so unique a mental condition that I can't help but be intrigued.

I look at him like I would look at an 8 1/2-leafed clover. Botanists and moralists might throw a fit about the condition of the soil being irradiated leading to such a mutation, think that something like an 8 1/2 leafed clover shouldn't exist, that it should be "banned", stomped on, etc. when there is really no way of stopping the nature of mutations or the nature of people.

Personally I suspect there's more to it than that. I suspect you sense some kinship here. Yuck...

Oh, if only this were a safe space where everyone cared about your fee-fees...

No, I just spend enough time online to know that he is not truly unusual in his extremism, he is simply more vocal and creative. I see progressives quite literally defending rape based on the race and religion of the rapist on a regular basis, and they are not unsupported. I also see feminists defending provably-false rape accusers, who (I say this as a victim of sexual abuse) ultimately are the girls-who-cry-wolf for the rest of us.

By the way, have you seen Saturday's most recent interview with Julian Assange? You can find it on RT's Youtube channel, it's very informative.

Oh take your "safe space" horseshit and shove it up your ass so hard all four of your grandparents choke on it in hell. You think you're the only one who's been through shit in this world? Too bad it doesn't seem to have taught you even basic human decency.

Christ, do you actually think I'm one of those fragile little latte-swilling middle-class jackasses in Ugg boots?

Listen, cupcake, I spent time homeless and still have to eat from trash cans now and then. With two jobs, and a clean lifestyle. I've seen shit that would make you plaster what little brain you have all over the wall of the nearest back alley. Don't you fucking dare patronize me with that idiocy.

Also, newsflash: freedom of speech means you're free to say what you wish, and I'm free to ridicule it mercilessly, as it deserves. Of the two of us, it sounds like you're the one who needs a "safe space." gb2/hugbox/, kthx; the grownups are talking now.

                    >Focusing on gender instead of content

That really says it all. You are making emotional appeals and grasping at straws, not focusing on the content of my message and forming logical arguments to rebuke them.

You are not a person who derives their views from reason, which is why you voted for Hillary Clinton, why you told a victim of sexual abuse to shove their abuse "up their grandmother's ass," and why you are now trying to "embarrass" somebody online, somehow, by not really doing or saying anything of note to disprove their positions.

Read your comment one more time, critically - as you would a book by Nabokov or Toni Morrison: You did not state a single fact, position, or argument. You gave - in order - an allusion, a baseless accusation (That means without evidence, which I know you don't like), and a petty appeal to some social standing that you imagine I believe myself to have.

You have failed as a critical commentator in every way - by not only being unaware of the subject matter, but by also not being able to directly write about it.
