By mid-November, Chicago's World Series afterglow will have faded and the hotly contested presidential election will be done and dusted, but North Americans will have one more "once in a lifetime event" to look forward to: The biggest, most spectacular supermoon in decades.
On November 14, skywatchers will be rewarded with a lunar close-up, the result of a coincidence between the moon's elliptical orbit and the position of the Earth and Sun.
A "supermoon" is the colloquial term for when a full moon coincides with the moon's closest approach to Earth, known as perigee.
Supermoon, Black Moon, the Cubs winning the World Series...the signs are upon us. The end is nigh.

Well, I do think the election will go down in history as either The Reformation or The End of Empire. Wonder how long either will last, but it is the dawning of a new age.
Here's to hoping we've learned from our mistakes.

People say that every four years because they buy into the "if so-and-so wins, it is the end as we know it" crap from cable pundits.
Get out of your echo chamber and see that big changes occur over long time frames despite the few isolated 9/11 type events you may want to try and counter with.

Truly oh wise one, then riddle me this:
Every single point forward is from a long chain of events. At any given point, change is afoot, including this one.
Can you name any other election where the presidential candidate didn't have the support of their own party? Or the other candidate is mostly despised by their party's grassroots supporters?
Anyone too stupid to see the ramifications it has to the major parties is probably stuck in an echo chamber of their own ass. The parties are fracturing, which is where the real change will come about beyond the election.
And that will be over the long term, and it starts now.
