Richard Simmons has officially shut down his legendary exercise studio in Beverly Hills. Slimmons had its last class yesterday morning, and although the iconic exercise guru wasn't present, he did have a message for the 60-ish people who showed up one last time to sweat to the oldies. They'd come from near and far, diehards and newbies alike, whose ages ran the gamut from 25 to 94. Simmons wrote a note for the class that the studio manager read aloud, and it was later posted to Facebook

    He's always been a 'nice guy'. I would daresay too nice. I always expected some really dirty secret to come out on him, but so far, other than being gay, he's turned out to live up to his public identity. Even his short lived TV show was like that. Basically Oprah's giveaways for whoever wanted/needed something (honestly a few of them were a stretch for me as far as 'needs' go, but he genuinely seems to like doing nice things.)

    I hope that whatever is going on with him he gets a chance to relax, take things into perspective, and find something to keep him happy for the next however many years of his life. Getting out of the Hollywood douchebag scene might do a lot of good for him. Given the Kardashians, the sheer amount of concentrated weath that is continuing to grow there, etc, I think there must be somewhere better and happier for him to live and work in (if he recovers and decides he still wants to.)
