Fidel Castro's death has been announced by Cuban state television:

Cuba's former president Fidel Castro, one of the world's longest-serving and most iconic leaders, has died aged 90. His younger brother and successor as president Raul Castro announced the news on state television.

Castro toppled the government in 1959, introducing a Communist revolution. He defied the US for decades, surviving many assassination plots. His supporters said he had given Cuba back to the people. Critics saw him as a dictator.

Ashen and grave, President Castro told the nation in an unexpected late night broadcast on state television that Fidel Castro had died and would be cremated later on Saturday. "The commander in chief of the Cuban revolution died at 22:29 hours this evening (03:29 GMT Saturday)," he said. "Towards victory, always!" he added, using a revolutionary slogan. A period of official mourning has been declared on the island until 4 December, when his ashes will be laid to rest in the south-eastern city of Santiago.

I probably won't watch, as I don't really care about this story as I never understood why there was a "Cuba policy" in the first place.

I will, however, check back here from time-to-time, so out of the thousand pieces filed this weekend, feel free to post an example of the six that Fox News digs up that supports what you say ("See? We're rebellious enough to show you REAL news, not that Liberal Bias stuff you get elsewhere"). After all, with them the exception proves the rule.

(By the way, for the sake of this exercise, I don't consider RT to be "legacy media").

Oh course RT isn't legacy media, it is Putin propaganda. I'm talking about the NYT, WaPo, CNN, NBC News (cable and broadcast), ABC, CBS, PBS/NPR, BBC, etc. Big fading legacy brand name journalism. Pretty safe bet one or more of the cable channels nixes the published guide data and rolls out an hour or more of documentary on the 'ol bastard. Biography Channel? History Channel? Discovery? All of the above + CNN?

Speaking of CNN... They supposedly broadcast 30 minutes of porn by accident on Thanksgiving evening in some cities due to a wrong switch being flipped. Their ratings were the highest in 30 years.

According to a single tweet of a pixellated porn video underneath a non-pixellated channel descriptor banner (i.e. a fake image) on an account that went private shortly thereafter. In other words, according to no source at all except someone's meme that got picked up by news agencies more interested in pumping out the latest gossip than verifying sources and facts. Fake news exists not because of Russians or trolls but because MSM reporters are lazy, stupid, gullible, and under a deadline that prevents them from doing a decent job even if they weren't lazy, stupid, and gullible.

Yeah, I totally saw that on Facebook too.
