The use of facial recognition software for commercial purposes is becoming more common, but, as Amazon scans faces in its physical shop and Facebook searches photos of users to add tags to, those concerned about their privacy are fighting back.

Berlin-based artist and technologist Adam Harvey aims to overwhelm and confuse these systems by presenting them with thousands of false hits so they can't tell which faces are real.

The Hyperface project involves printing patterns on to clothing or textiles, which then appear to have eyes, mouths and other features that a computer can interpret as a face.

If you don't want people keeping footage of you, and make looking at you or said footage illegal, you can do it. Just cover yourself in child porn.

How about a spandex birthday suit that looks a lot better than yours?

Betcha that one would get a helluva lot of attention at the mall!

I can see them trying to nail one with "indecent exposure", when one is completely covered with something featuring a much-improved print of what it is covering up...

Good God, no. I'll take the hamburger-and-beer belly, thanks.
I'm no longer at an age when I give a fuck over the appearance (substance, be it as much as it would, is good enough)

You notice that all the models for this face paint and hair do are young and, realtively, good-looking?
Maybe the designers have watched too many movies, where only the pretty young things are the ones who have to hide.
The old and ugly in these movies are just bad, mad, or soon-to-die.

So the over 40's are really not the target market for this stuff!

              1. Yeah, right, Over 40yo, you don't need to fool computer vision

              2. What I linked, is the festival in Austria. If you want to see an average body painting on Fatso Joe/Jane models by fatso painters [youtube.com], you need to visit the New York festival of body painting [youtu.be] (my point: age and body sizes are independent of market demand for bodypaint)

Is it legal to have tattoos or photos of yourself as a toddler naked? :)
