Two men were arrested following last night's shooting at a Quebec City mosque that left six people dead and 19 wounded, in what Quebec's premier described as a "murderous act directed at a specific community."

Thirty-nine people escaped the Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec (Islamic cultural centre of Quebec) in the Sainte-Foy neighbourhood without injuries, according to Quebec provincial police Sgt. Christine Coulombe.

Initially, it was reported that eight people were wounded, but authorities updated that number to 19 Monday morning.

Five were still in critical condition in hospital Monday morning, including three people who are in intensive care. Another 13 people have been released, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Coulombe said the people who died in the shooting, which occurred during Sunday evening prayers, ranged in age from 35 to 70.

Saw your link - followed it - and I was thinking that I need to thank you for the update. And, I do thank you! But, wait a second. The police have not identified the shooter. From the article:

"A leader of a local immigration rights groups, François Deschamps, told a local paper he recognized his photo as an anti-immigrant far-right “troll” who has been hostile to the group online."

Until the shooter is officially identified, we still don't know who he is, or why he shot up the mosque. Maybe Francoise knows what he's talking about, and maybe he doesn't either. Francoise may well be another troll, using his two minutes of fame to confuse the issue.

I'll wait just a little longer, to see whether this is a white supremacist asshole, or another Muslim asshole, or just some random asshole who felt the need to get his name in the papers.

I cannot believe you are airing a very sensible opinion. Well, I for one support your judgment when it is reasonable.

I may even go as far as saying that regardless of the motivations or colors, a murder or multiple murder is very well framed in most civilized countries laws, and justice shall be served accordingly. Never by mob rule, nor public opinion, nor special "turrorrist" laws with special sentences.

I never understand people claiming special sentences for terrorists or executions or torture etc. If the law does not allow for those punishments then society needs to reflect if it wants to change that. If it doesn't want to change that, then, a bit of reflection (oh God in this world of sound bytes) on why we overreact so much on the heat of the moment would be a good prescription.

I guess for 2017 I wish, law, order and good citizenship, of the reflecting kind not of the altruist one. I also wished very much my country would have such a perfect system as the original American state organization, with a real senate. I digress..

Don't be fooled. Derpaway just uses whatever tool is most likely to produce the results he wants.
Looks like one of his fellow bigots went postal? Lets take it easy, stay cool, practice restraint and not make a rush to judgment.
Looks like someone on the other team went postal? Full speed ahead on the hate train!

The only principle at work here is to maximize whatever argument most validates his prejudices.

I blame Runaway2626 for this mass murder. If it were not for fucking cowards like him, encouraging "lone wolf" idiots like this, we would only have to deal with the regular Republican serial killers and Bush league foreign country invasions. But Runaway has encouraged people like this guy, so it is just like Runaway pulled the trigger himself. And I think he is just a step or two from doing so. Did not a Mosque burn down in Texas a day or so ago?

I do not just blame him, Runaway1956 and all his ilk are directly responsible for lone wolf acts like this. Runaway has basically killed six people. Oh, yeah, he will claim that he never said that someone should go out and kill Muslims, except he fucking did. Runaway is a accomplice to mass murder. He is scum. If I believed in the death penalty, I would have to say it is too good for him. Next time, you fucking ignorant viewer of Faux (um, you know, that means "Fake") News, you want to say something about Islam, I suggest you just go an kill some children, anybody's children, because who do you think was in that Mosque! You are a murderer, Runaway! I will no longer read your posts, or respond to them. You are dead to me, as you should be in real life, for having encouraged this atrocity.

      Yep.

That story is pretty poorly written. Awfully poorly written, actually. First, the story establishes that there was only one shooter - but it goes on the repeat earlier claims that it was a coordinated attack by two shooters.

"In what was described as a coordinated attack, witnesses say the two gunmen wearing black fired indiscriminately into the dozens of worshipers — including families — in the mosque."

But, yes, it does say the police have identified the shooter, as opposed to some random member of the public recognizing him.

Yeah, stupid lamestream media! Can't even report the news right!
That's the real tragedy here. That's what we should all be taking about!

You are such a squirming mass of psychoses is, it just sad to see you acting out.
