When we first introduced Google Voice our goal was to create "one number for life"—a phone number that's tied to you, rather than a single device or a location. Since then, millions of people have signed up to use Google Voice to call, text and get voicemail on all their devices. It's been several years since we've made significant updates to the Google Voice apps (and by several, we mean around five ;)), but today we're bringing a fresh set of features to Google Voice with updates to our apps on Android, iOS and the web.

It's not just Google voice being prevented by Telegram. Microsoft's Azure prevents VoIP numbers from being used to create accounts. I had to fire off a letter to Microsoft legal, and berate several staff members over a week before they pulled some sort of magic and allowed me to create an account. Just to test Azure.
I literally did not possess any regular number whatsoever. Been using VoIP for like 10 years now. For those that are demanding it be txt message capable, VoIP is now fully capable of txt messaging as well. The apps just need to catch up.
Technically, lunchtime is at any moment. It's just a wave function.
