The AAP via the Herald Sun (News Corp) reports on a deal between the Australian government and the former U.S. administration. Under the arrangement, people seeking asylum in Australia—who have, controversially, been detained in centres on Nauru and on Manus Island in Papua New Guinea—would have been resettled in the United States. However, according to the story, the plan is now in question due to the change in leadership there.

According to The Guardian , "the U.S. could resettle zero refugees from Manus Island and Nauru and still be 'honouring' the deal."

I'm not USA citizen, but the answer is obvious: He got near 50% votes, so near 50% support him.

But probably not those that you see in media, Holywood actors, big bussines CEOs, Wallstreet people, journalist itself etc, or people who go to demonstrations and protests in big cities like New York, Washington etc, or even in Internet blogs. I don't agree with them (I think Trump is bully, a liar, and a total untrustworthy person), but that silent forgotten majority is there, voted him and now support him.

Well, here in UK we have a typical thing where the new guy comes in, they have a "honeymoon" where they implement all the stuff they said and everyone likes them for it, then it starts going wrong and whatever majority disappears.

Trump - well he had not much majority in the first place, and everything he does seems to add a new layer of incompetence. It seems hard for even this "silent majority" to support him. Especially as it becomes more and more clear he is a Kremlin nominee. For example, the reason for voting against Clinton was that she was borderline criminal. But then Trump plays these games with his business empire which are borderline criminal, possibly will lead to his impeachment.

But of course, this is a view from outside led by BBC, it is interesting to see what the view from inside is.

The honeymoon ends when reality forces to the elected charge to forget promises made as candidate.

But Trump is fulfllilng his promises. Basically, America first... and fuck the rest of the world, de don't need anyone.

The honeymoon for Trump will end when the reality left after pushing on with his promises be far from the paradise his voters thought will come. Unfortunately the consequences may happen in the long term, when damage is done. What are the consequences of breaking treaties? . How long does it take to suffer the consequences of being unable to make deals because none trust in you because you have broken treaties?.

"reason for voting against Clinton was that she was borderline criminal"

There is no borderline there. She is as criminal as they come. More importantly, she wanted to invade Syria. Just what we needed, yet another military morass, but this one we would have been nose-to-nose with the Russians. Uhhhh, no thanks, let's not do that if we can avoid it.
