Facing a presidential administration committed to waging war on Science, the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) this week launched a website to help scientists blow the whistle on government interference in their work.
[...] The website encourages scientists employed by state and federal agencies to share "memos, emails, directives, or any other documents;" to send "datasets or other information that has been altered or removed from public view;" and adds: "You can also describe anything that has been communicated orally or even rumors that you have heard, and we will investigate."
The UCS urges potential whistleblowers to use encrypted communications, anonymous email, and the postal service to send materials, and encourages following the Electronic Frontier Foundation's advice for protecting privacy.

We are being told this is going on? Is it? Or is it hyperbole? We at this point can not tell who is saying the truth. Our entire news system has been devolved to pure tabloid style hit pieces. Trump himself is actually creating fake newsworthy items to find out who he can trust in his own organization. That sort of thing has been going on for ages. We used to do it during the cold war to find out who was leaking things. This could be a leak hunt, or the truth, or just a bending of a particular point of view.
We were told by the previous admin those 30k of emails that were deleted were about yoga and weddings. Not one recovered email has been about that. So what is the truth out of these people. We are quickly learning 'the truth' is what they want us to think it is. It is a narcissist misdirection and gas-lighting us to make us question ourselves. When we should look at anyone and say 'give me the proof here'. We like to pretend our gov is the 'good guys' when the reality is they are people. Some want a better world, some want a better world only for themselves, some like the world to burn.
How about directly asking the man himself. He probably would answer you. Instead we trust these 'news' people to do our jobs for us and police our government. They have *clearly* shown who they are rooting for. In almost all cases it is not us but themselves and sometimes our goals may overlap slightly.
