The Washington Post reports that the "lower 48" states of the USA are enjoying spring-like weather. It quotes a meteorologist as saying 1495 record high temperatures have been reached during the month of February (as against 10 record lows); among them:

  • Magnum, Okla., hit 99 degrees [Fahrenheit, 37.2° Celsius] on Feb. 11 — tying the state record for hottest winter temperature ever recorded. Yet it occurred two weeks earlier than the record it matched from Feb. 24, 1918, set in the town of Arapaho.
  • Denver hit 80 degrees [Fahrenheit, 26.7° Celsius] Feb. 10 — its warmest February temperature on record dating back to 1872.
  • Norfolk hit 82 degrees [Fahrenheit, 27.8° Celsius] Feb. 12, tying its warmest February temperature on record dating back to 1874.

[Ed Note: it is actually Mangum, OK, not Magnum. The original WaPo article is incorrect.]

I was mentioning this in the other thread about taxing robots. Why is it that so much low-brow stuff like this is posted against Trump? If you don't like Trump, it is hurting your case to associate anti-Trump sentiment with drivel!

At least the anti-Obama versions (no birth certificate, etc) usually had some kind of narrative or story to them. I don't remember a constant stream of people making fun of his ears (he said his ears are big to Jerry Seinfeld) or whatever.

    I'm just having fun:

Spring time for America in February reminded me of Spring time for Hitler: a gay romp [etc] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Springtime_for_Hitler [wikipedia.org]

But my main point was the growing season is changing.

Then that transit made me think of how ivanka (i wanna) grow something. Yeah... pretty bad, i know.

I like trump more than hillary (yeeee-gads... yes, i like her as much as i'd like eating toe fungus), but less than turnip (baked with brown sugar and apples).

I just wish the growing season was longer here in Canada...

yeah, i guess this was my own romp through insanity, lol

I think it sounds like good old fashioned cabin fever. But, with climate change, they've surely renamed cabin fever to something more politically correct.

When the person you're criticizing is as low-brow as Trump, there's really no reason to even try.

I mean FFS, WTF is he going to do when there's actually a not fake terrorist attack?

No, don't answer that question; I already know the answer. It used to be frightening to me, but who the fuck cares? Nobody wants a land for the free or brave any more. It's gone out of style. Who the fuck am I to tell everybody else how they should approach life?

Only thing to do is learn to stop worrying and love the bomb.

But I don't pay much attention to politics and have no idea how lowbrow Trump is. All I've heard for a year is what looks like morons frothing at the mouth against him. You are (and have been) driving people to support Trump by your actions. I was saying this a year ago and no one listened. Now he is president. It is just insane to keep up this drivel after seeing the effects.*

*Note I am assuming that the people driveling are actually capable of something more substantive

The "other side" had plenty lowbrow stuff of their own, like the countless pictures of Obama as a monkey or gorilla.

And now "my side" seems to indulge in the same stupid ad hominem attacks, only instead of his skin color it is "yellow hair", "small hands" and "Hitler".

Considering that Obama won two elections, that hardly argues against the GP's point that low-brow attacks don't work.
