The company that arose from RadioShack's 2015 bankruptcy saga could soon itself be filing for bankruptcy.

General Wireless is reportedly on the brink of seeking protection from creditors and entering the liquidation process. The biz could not be reached for comment. The formal paperwork for the bankruptcy could be posted within a matter of days, it is claimed.

A liquidation of General Wireless will effectively mark the end of RadioShack, which opened its first store in 1921 and became a mainstay of electronics hobbyists through the rise of the home computing era.

The retailer was nearly liquidated outright in 2015 after years of struggling to keep up with competition from online stores and a financial plummet that saw the value of its stock fall so sharply it was removed from the New York Stock Exchange.

Micro Center remains, but in the era of Adafruit, Seeed Studio, Sparkfun, and others are big-box retailers still relevant?

As I've posted here before, I'm a dwarf IRL. No matter what clothes I buy, I'm going to have to have them tailored severely. Any pair of pants I buy will need anywhere from eight to twelve inches cut from each leg, so I just have any other alteration made as necessary. I mean, I could buy boys' clothes I suppose, but I'm a 40 year-old man and would like to look like one. As for shoes, there are exactly two pairs of shoes in North America that I've found over the past fifteen years that fit me, (and believe me, I thoroughly check every couple of years). Unless I have shoes custom made (which is expensive), my only two options are both New Balance sneakers. So, I just routinely order a new pair of one of the two New Balance sneakers every six months. I still can't find any "dress" shoes at all that fit me, so I just have to make due wearing my New Balance sneakers everywhere. God forbid if New Balance ever stops making those two sneaker models in my size, because I suppose then I will have to have my shoes custom made.

Hmm I bought "New Balance Men's MX623v2 Cross-Training Shoe" faster and faster as quality declined until I couldn't tolerate getting less than six months from shoes.

Before they went really Chinese you could get two, three years out of a pair. Of course when they went Chinese the price didn't drop a penny.

Thorogood shoes/boots might cost $200 but at least they last for years and are made in Wisconsin.

Yeah, the quality of New Balance shoes are not nearly as good as they once were. I used to replace mine every year or so, but the past several years have had to do so more frequently. Now it's about six or seven months of use before they start looking shoddy and I need to replace them. Unfortunately, as I've explained, the two New Balance shoe models are the only options I've ever been able to find in my size.

I knew a guy who was 8' tall, but it was ALL legs: when he sat down, I could look him in the eyes.

His parents would buy him extra tall pants, but that meant his belt line came half way up his chest. Poor guy had to try hiding it under shirts not tucked in, or sweat shirt type of thing.

Sometimes it seemed that Dog just wanted a good laugh: he was soooo awkward, and we had a dick P.E. teacher who made him do shit he couldn't do (pommel horse, rope climbing) but wouldn't let him near his precious basketball team, even though he would have been at least fair with guidance.

Dick head drunk P.E. teacher with a crappy pinkish Corvette convertible dick head. Reminds me of that teacher in Breakfast Club. Dick.
