In January 2013, police raided the home of a Cleveland drug dealer, saying in a search warrant that an informant had recently bought crack cocaine there.

But the drug dealer had surveillance cameras that proved the officers were lying. He gave the tapes to his lawyer, who showed the FBI. The feds then worked to uncover a massive scandal of a rogue street-crimes unit that robbed and framed drug suspects who felt they had no choice but plead guilty to fraudulent charges.

Four years later, authorities are still unwinding the damage.

Three cops who worked for the city of East Cleveland are in prison. Cases against 22 alleged drug dealers have been dismissed. Authorities are searching for another 21 people who are eligible to have their convictions tossed. On top of those injustices, there is a slim chance that any of them will be fully reimbursed, because the disgraced officers and their former employer don't have the money.

They've got all the money they need:
    1. Seize the police pension fund. No pension for rotten cops and the bad cops that enabled them. Yes, there will be a little collateral damage, but I refuse to believe more than a small handful of cops in that department were truly good cops.
    2. If that's not enough, seize the pension funds for the rest of the "public servants" of that cesspool.
    3. If that's still not enough, enact sky-high taxes. Jack up the property tax rate by an order of magnitude, quadruple the sales tax rate, and put a 5% tax on business gross revenue. (NOT profit, profit can be calculated away with the wave of a pen.) Make all of those taxes effective immediately. (Immediately means any business pulling a "fire sale" to leave still has to pay their fair share of the taxes.) To enforce the property tax, immediately pass a law that states that any property owners (including banks that own foreclosed properties) that fail to pay the taxes on time will have ownership of the property and everything on it and under it (make DAMN sure to include the mineral/water rights in all this) immediately and irreversibly transferred to the victims of this corruption.

If the town collapses, the victims of the corruption can make a few million selling the entire town for scrap.

We need to make an example of these people. Until we make an example of someone this kind of bullshit will continue. There are far too many bad cops in this country covering for truly rotten cops.

Fine elected officials that uses insider information or do perverted incentives bidding a la sophisticated bribery. Tax evil business practices.

Ought to keep the state budget safe for a long time ;-)

Besides.. the ones that owns the money printing, owns the country.
