A FISA warrant was obtained to monitor Trump campaign aide Carter Page before the election:
The FBI obtained a warrant to secretly surveil former Donald Trump aide Carter Page last summer under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), according to a Tuesday Washington Post report.
The FBI and Justice Department demonstrated probable cause that Page is acting on behalf of a foreign state in order to be granted the warrant.
The FISA warrant was part of the FBI's investigation into possible ties between Russia and Trump campaign associates, law enforcement and U.S. officials told the Post.
"This confirms all of my suspicions about unjustified, politically motivated government surveillance," Page told the Post Tuesday. "I have nothing to hide."
Page has not been accused of committing a crime.

Former President Barack Obama's national security adviser Susan Rice ordered U.S. spy agencies to produce "detailed spreadsheets" of legal phone calls involving Donald Trump and his aides when he was running for president, according to former U.S. Attorney Joseph diGenova.
"What was produced by the intelligence community at the request of Ms. Rice were detailed spreadsheets of intercepted phone calls with unmasked Trump associates in perfectly legal conversations with individuals," diGenova told The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group Monday.
[...] Other official sources with direct knowledge and who requested anonymity confirmed to TheDCNF diGenova's description of surveillance reports Rice ordered one year before the 2016 presidential election.

That's an interesting thought. That's straight out of the Karl Rove playbook: accuse your opponent of something first that you know you yourself are guilty of. Then, when the other guys point out what you've done in kind, nobody believes them.
Knowing the Clintons the way I do, and having seen how they conducted things with the Clinton Global Initiative and the Clinton Foundation when Hillary was Secretary of State, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you were right and the DNC and Democrats were pushing the Russia meme prophylactically.
Trump really ought to have done himself a favor and thrown the Clintons straight in jail. Letting them linger allows them to undermine his agenda at every turn. But, no, building a stupid wall is much more important.

You see the schedule of meetings that Bill and Hillary that the Scheduling Department (yes, the Clinton Foundation has a "Scheduling Department." Have you ever heard of a non-profit having a "Scheduling Department?") sends around in a daily, paper memo. Bill and Hillary are married, you see, so there was overlap in their two schedules. Then you see agreements--by total coincidence, I'm sure--coming out of State that closely follow those meetings. And you think to yourself, "Huh, that's a funny coincidence..."
There are piles of gifts/bribes left out in the CF kitchen. Anything you can imagine. The basement of the archives of the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock are filled with every kind of thing, from jewel-encrusted golden horses from Saudi Arabian princes to badly executed portraits of Bill and Hillary painted by some potentate's nephew.
The Clintons and people like them don't see it as actionable corruption. It's just their business. Selling influence is what they do. Also, because they're both lawyers who have played fast and loose with the law all their lives and never having been caught, they figure they can wriggle out of anything. And they are right. They have never been nailed for their crimes.
You don't seem to like that unvarnished look into a world you will probably never personally witness. But there it is. It's a fact. I share it with you and everyone because few people get that opportunity, or ever will.
You're welcome.

This is a real stretch. Nobody cares about the person who loses an election. Just look at what happened with HUGE SCANDAL of the classified emails on her server. It was quietly forgotten. Even President "Lock-Her-Up-On-Day-One" Trump abruptly dropped the idea once the elections were over. The Clintons don't need to go on the offensive to distract; they are now has-beens (for the next few years) nobody cares about.
You can make the argument that the Clintons should be in jail. However, whether or not they should be is completely irrelevant to the argument that members of the Trump administration should be thrown in jail, and whether the president himself should be impeached.

That would be the case for a lot of politicians, but the Clintons are closer to something like the Medicis in that their web of influence is deep and broad. Even through 8 years of Obama they kept a tight grip on the DNC. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, who skewed the primary toward Hillary against Bernie, was a Clinton creature. Donna Brazile, who replaced the disgraced DWS (who then went directly to a formal role in the HRC campaign), was also a Clinton creature. The guy who won the recent election for chairman of the DNC is a Clinton creature.
The Deep State was really throwing its weight behind Hillary in the election, so leaving them alone to hobble his agenda behind the scenes is a mistake Trump is making. From a Machiavellian point of view he ought to have taken them out immediately. It would have put the opponents to his agenda on the back foot and would have greatly energized his supporters.
