The FBI obtained a warrant to secretly surveil former Donald Trump aide Carter Page last summer under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), according to a Tuesday Washington Post report.
The FBI and Justice Department demonstrated probable cause that Page is acting on behalf of a foreign state in order to be granted the warrant.
The FISA warrant was part of the FBI's investigation into possible ties between Russia and Trump campaign associates, law enforcement and U.S. officials told the Post.
"This confirms all of my suspicions about unjustified, politically motivated government surveillance," Page told the Post Tuesday. "I have nothing to hide."
Page has not been accused of committing a crime.

Former President Barack Obama's national security adviser Susan Rice ordered U.S. spy agencies to produce "detailed spreadsheets" of legal phone calls involving Donald Trump and his aides when he was running for president, according to former U.S. Attorney Joseph diGenova.
"What was produced by the intelligence community at the request of Ms. Rice were detailed spreadsheets of intercepted phone calls with unmasked Trump associates in perfectly legal conversations with individuals," diGenova told The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group Monday.

You are just so ignorant that nothing ever gets by you, Runaway. You are aiding and abetting enemies of the United States of America, which is neither here nor there for me, but didn't you take some oath or another at some point that would keep you from supporting a Trump administration, at pain of loss of your sacred honor, and possibly your life? (Russians do not mess around, Runaway, look up a movie called "Eastern Promises".)
So, no, I am not calling for a House Un-american Activities Committee, I am calling for one of two, no, three things. Either a) Runaway learns to recognize how ignorant, stupid, uneducated, and used by the alt-right he is, and apologies and reduces his frequency of posting to SN by a factor of ten, or b) Trump be impeached and charged with treason, bad taste, eating pizza with a fork, and having forced several models to marry him, or c) a Moscow show trial, where we know the defendant is guilty, we just need to make a big deal of it! McCarthy wanted something like that, but the American legal system would only let him get away with character assassination, innendo, and paranoia about Communist mind control and something in the water. [By the way, the protections of the legal system do not apply to counter-intelligence, which Runaway would not know since he fails at just intelligence. Of course, if the spy agencies use extra-judicial methods, and even a FISA court warrant is arguably in that category, the evidence cannot be used to prosecute the target of surveillance.
