Not much to say, other than Moore was the first Bond I came to know, and as such, is the first face I think of when I think of the Bond Character.

In remembrance, what was your favourite role that Moore played over the years, Bond or otherwise?

I always think of him as Simon Templar [wikipedia.org] (the Saint) and prefer those performances over him playing Bond.

Heir to the Goldfarb Girdle's fortune.

Cannonball Run was truly a great comedy, especially their Smokey Yunick-like skirting of Roger Moore's employment contract and one-off bond melody. That was singlehandedly responsible for a boilerplate change in all later acting contracts to ensure such parodying of a character an actor had previously played didn't happen again. He spoofed playing a wealthy boy-child playing Roger Moore, playing his (unnamed) Bond character. Between his constantly changing female companions, the Natasha voice (from rocky and bullwinkle), and the bond car gimmicks, it was all too perfect.
