Taiwan's Council of Grand Justices (大法官) ruled that the current civil law banning same sex marriage is unconstitutional and that the legislature has two years to either amend the law or create a new law.

Taiwan News

Legislation enforcing the court's ruling is already working its way through the legislature, where both the ruling and major opposition parties support legalisation as do a majority of Taiwanese people and President Tsai Ing-wen.

A large percentage of the public in Taiwan has accepted the idea of same-sex marriage because leaders have elevated liberal social causes to show the island's democratic credentials in the face of China, a political rival that restricts free speech and association.

But the debate has prompted a backlash, with mass protests by conservatives in recent months.

" I am totally fucking sick of hearing from assholes who think they are entitled to dictate who other people are allowed to love."

I didn't write anything about dictating how others were "allowed" to love. Your reading comprehension sucks, little boy.

I'm sick of hearing about minority groups as though they were a majority, when they are not and never will be.

Most people are not queer, and most people don't like queers, and you can't change that
    with any legislation.

Sure, on this website, there is a disproportionate percentage of queers, but that is NOT reflected out in the real world,
and you would do well to remember that reality before you mouth off to the wrong person some day.

Ah, the "I didn't literally say that" defense. The last refuge the internet coward.

This story literally has nothing to do with legislating people into gayness or making them like gay people.
Its all about removing a special exception from the law for gay people. Now they get to be treated like everybody else.

You say you are tired of gay people being getting special treatment? Well then you should have no complaints about this, because now they aren't getting special treatment.
