Lebanon Calls for Ban of Wonder Woman 2017 Movie

Lebanon's economy ministry says it has asked the country's security agency to ban the 2017 Wonder Woman movie because its lead actress, Gal Gadot, is an Israeli.

A senior security official says no formal request has been received yet, and that the ban would require a recommendation from a six-ministry-member committee.

Supporters of the boycott took to social media to campaign against the movie.

    I still don't see how that's the end of civilization some make it out to be. Castro gave America all his prisoners at once and the US did not implode. Or, for an even more dramatic example, Britain dumped nothing but convicts on the continent of Australia and they turned around and made a country out of it. Granted, the Aborigines got the short end of the stick, but it was not the end of the world for Australia as a whole. And the lot of them developed a lovely accent on top of it all.

    There could be positive externalities for Muslim haters, too. Having a lot more people around who keep halal will encourage more grocery chains and restaurants to serve halal-friendly food; I've been told it's interchangeable with kosher standards so Jews should be happy at having broader options. Also, having more people around who insist women dress modestly will please evangelical Christians, Amish, Mormons, and feminists who crusade against objectification of women.

    Yes there's the whole jihad thing, but after the vi vs. emacs religious wars we ought to be inured to that by now.
