TechDirt reports

[...] The past few USPTO directors had been cut from the "more patents is always a good thing" mold, whereas Lee actually recognized that bad patents harmed innovation. And even though the last time the Patent Office got concerned about bad patents it allowed the patent approval backlog to fill up, under Lee the backlog has reached its lowest point in a decade.[paywall]

[...] For all the craziness going on in the government right now, having competent leadership at the USPTO would be one less thing to worry about. But... now it's being reported that Lee has suddenly resigned and sent a goodbye email to staff. That's bad news on the patent front.

Of course, it may be ages before any new director is appointed. As I type this, of the 559 key positions requiring Senate confirmation, Trump hasn't even named a nominee for 431 of them. [...] Adding the new USPTO director to that pile may mean no new USPTO director for.... who the hell knows how long.

Ask yourself, "When and why did the term "RINO" come into existence?" I can't say that one party is more guilty than the other,

    What's your point?
Because that sounds like an indictment of one party --- a wing of one party decided that cooperation to get shit done made you a traitor. There is no equivalent of that term for the other party.

Is this one of those cases where you so brainwashed to believe your thesis that you think citing facts that contradict it still proves it?
Seems to be a common form of cognitive dissonance hereabouts.

You're not listening, so it sounds like an indictment of one party, to you.

How 'bout that DNC hack? Hillary and Wasserman-Schultz were "feeling the Bern", so they threw him under the bus. Dirty politics, and divisive as all hell.

The whole point is, politics are dirty, neither party even attempts to stay clean, and the more divided the nation is, the happier both parties are.

Antifa? WTF does that even mean? Anti-fascist, right? And, again, WTF does it mean? The left thinks that Trump and his followers are all fascists, right? Well, fuck me running - the god-damned court fool isn't even SMART ENOUGH to be a fascist. He doesn't have the motivation, he lacks the imagination - Trump is just a damned fool. A damned fool with lots of money, but still a fool. He really doesn't have a clue how government works, and this story helps to prove that he a clueless fool.

And, the left thinks he's a FASCIST?!?!?!

Actually, the lefties who actually weild power don't think that Trump is a fascist. Those few are smart enough to understand that trump is an impotent fool. It's all the rest of you, the members of the flock, who believe all that stupidity about Trump and fascism. The sheeple are told that Trump is a fascist, and that he must be deposed, and all the good little sheep go out and demonstrate. And, the nation is divided.

"you so brainwashed to believe your thesis that you think citing facts that contradict it still proves it?"

You're about as smart as Trump, aren't you? I cited a single example of the divisiveness that both parties love so much. In and of itself, that example would be almost meaningless - but it is an EXAMPLE. Try to keep up, alright?
