Terrorists have attacked the Ayatollah Khomeini mausoleum and Iranian parliament in two nearly simultaneous incidents:

There have been multiple attacks in the Iranian capital of Tehran, according to state media. A woman was arrested after a bomb attack and shooting spree wounded two people at the Ayatollah Khomeini mausoleum south of the city Wednesday, the semi-official Fars news agency reports. The news agency reported that a second attacker is currently surrounded by security officers.

That attack occurred at the same time as a shooting in the Iranian parliament, in which at least three people were injured after an attacker stormed the building in central Tehran, according to state-run Press TV.

Well, stats are pretty clear that Americans kill Americans, Europeans kill Europeans, and Middle-East people kill each other.
Statistically, a young Iranian raised in a Muslim family is likely the culprit of a crime in Tehran.

No, I've seen your posts. I don't mean "conservatism", even if that's descended from "mostly wrong" to "active trying to be wrong about things" over the past 30 years. I mean this identitarian worldview, hinged entirely on flagellating visible differences with other cultures as inherent inferiorities of those cultures, coupled with a fundamentally authoritarian attitude, when given the "right" authorities.

            It's indistinguishable except in implementation.

Actually, I don't think I've ever characterized Islam as "inferior" to our way of life. Islam actually has some things going for it, that seem superior to our way. What I have stated, repeatedly, and very clearly, is that Islam is incompatible with the western way of life. Islam is anathema to every judicial system that western man has experimented with, beginning with the Code of Hamarabai, and continuing on through current US Code.

In Islam, there are no rights. There is only submission. Submit to the will of Allah, as interpreted by the leading imams of the time. Submit, or die.

Take the worst of the worst that Christianity has ever been accused of, subtract all of Christianity's best traits, and you have Islam.

People think that the Christian inquisitions were a bad thing. In Saudi Arabia, the inquisitions continue, daily.

Gotta agree with ikanreed here, you have a lot of decent viewpoints and quite a few good arguments from time to time; but then you sneak in with some weirdly pro-authoritarian garbage from time to time. My guess is it is latent brainwashing from your stint in the military, plus your older generation simply seems to take a lot of authoritarian beliefs for granted. So you probably have no idea and think its just normal. Can the fish see the bowl?

Are you sure? It might be a bunch of Christian white supremacists!! Why would you be so quick to assume that DAESH is responsible? Just because they say so, doesn't make it so. /sarcasm

    What I wrote was:

ISIS took responsibility. The Al Jazeera story says that ISIS claimed to have made the attack.

Were I sure that they were responsible, I would have written "ISIS did it." When I use the word "claim" I'm indicating doubt.

State or assert that something is the case, typically without providing evidence or proof.

    -- https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/claim [oxforddictionaries.com]

According to one of the stories, they provided a video. If you mean to imply that I ought to have assumed that they did it, and the fact that they claimed to have done the attack was not noteworthy, I disagree. They didn't claim to have done the recent attacks in Afghanistan; as far as I know no one has. So I thought that the claim of responsibility was noteworthy.

I'm unsure what you're hinting at with the mention of "a bunch of Christian white supremacists." Christians in Iran are a small minority, and many of them are Armenian.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity_in_Iran#Current_situation [wikipedia.org]

I'm unsure whether you deem Armenians white. In the last century, Iran was occupied by the Russians, the British, and the Soviet Union. The first two would qualify as white, Christian countries, I'd say. Perhaps you're ridiculing me because I've submitted stories about the white supremacy movement in the United States? I've also submitted stories here about violence that appeared to have been done by Muslims; the editors didn't deem them newsworthy.

An editor sent me a note about the Jakarta story. The note has disappeared now (my messages disappear more quickly than they ought to) but I recall that it was to the effect that that sort of attack was a fairly typical occurrence for that part of the world. As for the story about the Dhaka attack, I don't recall clearly, but I think there was a note saying it was rejected because the event happened in Bangladesh. I've also gotten a note saying that too many "political" stories were being submitted; that note has also disappeared, but the sentiment was expressed in a comment by one of the editors:

Welcome to the Politics Nexus, boys and girls. The next time anyone asks why we don't run more political articles, please remember this dumpster fire.

        -- /politics/comments.pl?noupdate=1&sid=18256&page=2&cid=473669#commentwrap [soylentnews.org]

When I submitted several stories that weren't about science or technology, they were removed from the queue without being explicitly rejected. I thought it was a bug, but NCommander explained that it's an option the editors have, which isn't normally used to indicate rejection:
